Renewable energy such as biomass is an important direction of energy development.Due to the lack of research, this paper studied the autoignition characteristics of an important model fuel of biodiesel, methyl decanoate(MD)and its mixed fuel mixture with butanol at low-to-intermediate temperature.A new type of heated rapid compression machine(RCM)was used in the experiment and the mechanism of Herbine et al.and Grana et al.were used to simulate by variable volume method under the software of CHEMKIN PRO.The autoignition characteristics of MD were first studied at the compressed pressure of 5-20 bar, equivalence ratios varying from 0.53 to1.60 and compressed temperatures of 633-855 K.Sufficient low temperature autoignition data and complete NTC(Negative Temperature Coefficient)region of methyl decanoate were obtained.Similar to long chain hydrocarbons, methyl decanoate exhibits two-stage ignition characteristics at low temperature, but only single-stage ignition at medium and high temperature. The experimental results were compared with shock tube data.Furthermore, the influences of compressed pressure, oxygen and fuel content, nitrogen concentration ignition characters were studied, and the negative correlation between ignition delay times and first-stage ignition delay time with compression pressure, oxygen and fuel concentration was verified. In this paper, the experimental results were fitted by correlation for quantitative analysis. For the mixed fuel of MD and butanol, the autoignition characteristics were studied at the compressed pressure of 10-20 bar, equivalence ratios varying from 0.5 to 1.5 and compressed temperature of 655-975 K.Low-to-intermediate temperature autoignition data of the mixed fuel were obtained and the influence of butanol on the autoignition characteristics of mixed fuel was explored. In this paper, the influence of mixing proportion, compressed pressure, oxygen content and equivalence ratio were studied, and the influence of mixing proportion on the ignition characteristics at low-to-intermediate temperature was found, and the negative correlation between total IDTs and first-stage IDTs with compressed pressure, oxygen and fuel content was verified. Finally, the reaction analysis was carried out.A complete reaction path map of Grana et al.mechanism was constructed in the reaction pathway analysis. The reaction path proportion at different temperatures was analyzed quantitatively and the problems in the mechanism of Grana et al.were pointed out.In addition, the reactant content analysis and sensitivity analysis of MD and the mixed fuel were carried out.
