Synthesis Of Iridium Base Multielement Alloy Catalyst As Electrocatalyst For Water Spiltting | Posted on:2020-04-08 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | Country:China | Candidate:J Zhang | Full Text:PDF | GTID:2491306518968409 | Subject:Materials science | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | Fossil energy crisis has always been a concern and urgent problem to be solved in the 21st century.At present,a very green,clean and renewable integrated water cracking method for hydrogen production is being studied on a large scale.The hydrogen generated from this method can also be used in a variety of energy applications.Electrochemical decomposition of water to produce hydrogen is regarded as one of the most promising green,clean and renewable energy sources.Suitable catalyst can greatly reduce the energy consumption and cost of hydrogen production from electrolytic water,which is beneficial to the application and promotion of this technology.In recent decades,people have been exploring and researching practical catalysts with low cost,large reserves and good catalytic conditions.This paper takes Ir base ternary metal alloy catalyst as the main research object and mainly explores the following two aspects:(1)A simple one-step oil bath method for the synthesis of graded dual-core shell structure(HCSA)with iridium base polymetallic alloy catalyst was studied and applied to the complete hydrolysis of water in acidic environment.The prepared IrNiCu HCSA demonstrated comparable HER performance to Pt/C and better OER performance than Ir O2.As a bifunctional catalyst,IrNiCu HCSA also showed excellent electrolysed water performance.In acidic environment,the voltage was only 1.53v when the current density was 10 m A cm-2 and the performance remained basically unchanged after 20 hours of continuous catalysis,showing good stability.This study lays a foundation for the design and synthesis of a new iridium base polymetallic alloy and has a great application prospect in electrochemical catalysis of electrolysed water.(2)A hollow structure Ir base ternary metal bifunctional catalyst was prepared by a simple two-step method for the efficient complete hydrolysis of water.The catalyst IrNiCu HCSA was firstly synthesized by oil bath method,and then Fe3+etched for a period of time.The sample has a hollow structure inside and a multi-element shell composed of a small amount of Cu and Ni and a large amount of Ir elements outside.It has a large area of electrochemical activity and can provide a large number of catalytic activity sites.It can be used as an efficient and stable bifunctional catalyst to electrolysed water.The synthesized IrNiCu Hollow structure has excellent electrocatalytic performance for both HER and OER in acidic environment. | Keywords/Search Tags: | Ternary alloy catalyst, Hiberarchy, Core-shell structure, Hollow structure, Hydrogen evolution reaction, Oxygen evolution reaction, Overall water splitting | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
