In recent years,the leakage of fuel oil stored by ships and the leakage of crude oil from marine transportation have occurred frequently.These oil spills cause waste and damage the environment.The limited resources become more precarious.Traditional treatment methods have shortcomings.In order to treat the increasing amount of oily wastewater,a new and efficient method for treating oily wastewater is needed.To achieve the purpose of separating immiscible oil-water mixtures,the surface microstructure of hydrophobic material was changed and hydrophobic chemical modification was performed on them.The specific research is as follows:(1)The metal copper mesh was uesd as the separation material,then the needle-shaped Cu(OH)2 on the surface of the copper mesh were grew by in-situ growth method,so that the surface of the copper mesh has the rough surface necessary for superhydrophobic materials,and then the stearic acid-Isopropyl titanate solution were used to modify the copper mesh.The separation mechanism of the material was studied in detail,and the separation experiment of a variety of immiscible oil-water mixtures was used to evaluate the separation performance of the material.The separation efficiency of the prepared copper mesh was as high as 95%.In addition,the mechanical stability of the material was tested.After 10 times of wear and tear,the material still has good hydrophobic properties.The prepared copper mesh has excellent antibacterial properties(Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli)and can treat oily sewage.(2)The copper foamed was used as the separation material,a tree-like nanostructure on the surface of the foamed copper were prepared by in-situ growth method,and then the surface of material was modified to achieve super-hydrophobic performance.The prepared super-hydrophobic copper foamed mesh has excellent hydrophobic properties,and it can efficiently separate a variety of immiscible oil-water mixtures,and the separation efficiency is mostly above 95%.The properties of the prepared materials were tested and characterized by various characterization(SEM,EDS,XRD and FT-IR).Two strains(Staphylococcus aureus and Escherichia coli)were used to test the antimicrobial properties of the samples,and the hydrophobic copper foam can effectively inhibit the surrounding bacteria.After 10times of wear,the prepared copper foam still has good hydrophobic properties.
