Influence Of Party Organizations’ Participation In Corporate Governance In State-owned Enterpriseson The Quality Of Environmental Information Disclosure

China’s listed companies as an important subject of national economic development,their social responsibility has attracted the attention of many experts and scholars.Listed companies should play an exemplary role in assuming environmental protection responsibilities.As the key actor of environmental governance,the attitude and measures of environmental protection of enterprises are of great significance to guide the sustainable development of economy.Under the increasingly stringent environmental information disclosure system,the performance of enterprises’ environmental responsibility can be measured by the quality of environmental information disclosure,which has become a key way for the society to understand the environmental protection achievements of enterprises,for the government to formulate environmental protection policies and for experts to predict environmental changes.At present,scholars’ research on corporate environmental information disclosure has shifted from the motivation theory to the research on the quality of environmental information disclosure from the perspective of corporate governance structure.In the current new era of socialist modernization construction,the participation of Party organizations in corporate governance has become an important feature of modern state-owned enterprise system with Chinese characteristics.The Party organizations in state-owned enterprises are not only the driving force to promote the development of the company’s operation,but also an important node for the government and enterprises to coordinate green environmental governance.How the actual influence of the party organization,how will affect the enterprise behavior,has yet to be deeply discussed in the academic circle.Based on this,this article from the visual angles of state-owned enterprise party organizations to participate in corporate governance research,through the collection of state-owned listed companies of heavy pollution industry in 2011-2019 financial data,using the empirical econometric model to explore the state-owned enterprise party organizations to participate in corporate governance on the quality of the environment information disclosure,so as to make enterprise environmental protection policy,perfecting the corporate governance structure of state-owned enterprises to provide important enlightenment.The results show that :(1)The overall quality of environmental information disclosure of listed companies in state-owned heavy pollution industries is low,and the disclosure situation is uneven,and the enterprise environmental information disclosure system needs to be improved.(2)The participation of the Party organization in corporate governance of state-owned enterprises can significantly improve the quality of environmental information disclosure.In the top management team,the higher the proportion of the overlap between the Party organization and the management,the higher the quality of corporate environmental information disclosure.When the Party secretary is concurrently chairman or general manager,the awareness of environmental responsibility of the whole management will invisibly affect the enterprise’s decision on environmental protection,and will promote the enterprise to disclose high-quality environmental information while fulfilling its environmental responsibility.(3)In the party organization to participate in corporate governance and equity diversification between environmental information disclosure quality play a significant positive regulation,compared with the low degree of diversification of equity of state-owned enterprises,the higher equity diversification of state-owned enterprise,the party organizations to participate in corporate governance more effectively play its governance role,make the enterprise disclosure of environmental information higher quality.
