Activated coke has developed pore structure and abundant surface oxygen-containing functional groups.Its raw materials are cheap and easy to obtain,and production cost is low.It is widely used in pollutant removal and other fields.At present,high-temperature coal tar and other pitches are often used as active coke binders.However,it needs to be obtained under complicated process conditions.Waste Plastic is a kind of high-molecular polymer with resin as a matrix and additives as supplemented.Its annual consumption is huge,and it is difficult to degrade in the natural environment,causing serious pollution.At present,no effective recycling technology has been explored.In this paper,phenolic plastic(PP),polyethylene terephthalate plastic(PET),and epoxy plastic(EP)are used as active coke binders.The effect of binder content and activation temperature on activated coke microstructure is explored,and analyzing the desulfurization performance evaluation of the obtained activated coke.Following conclusions are obtained:(1)Increasing of phenolic plastic content enhance the compressive strength,but it will affect the microstructure of activated coke,resulting in a decrease in specific surface area and content of surface functional groups.The activation temperature has a significant effect on the performance of activated coke.As the temperature increases,specific surface area and surface functional group content tend to increase and then decrease.When the phenolic plastic content is 20% and activation temperature is 800 ℃,activated coke has the most developed pore structure,the highest surface functional group content,and the maximum sulfur capacity of 9.88 mg/g.(2)PET is used as a binder to prepare activated coke.Content of PET increases,the compressive strength is enhanced.Specific surface area and surface functional group content increase and then decrease.Increasing of activation temperature is conducive to the formation of pores and surface functional groups.When PET content is 25% and activation temperature is 850 ℃,activated coke strength meets the national premium grade standard,the specific surface area is the highest,and the surface functional group content is rich.(3)Epoxy plastic is used as a binder to prepare activated coke.The addition of epoxy plastic is conducive to the formation of activated coke microstructure;too high content will lead to a decrease in compressive strength,specific surface area and surface functional group content.Specific surface area and content of surface functional groups show a trend of first increasing and then decreasing with the increase of activation temperature.When epoxy plastic content is 30% and activation temperature is 800 ℃,activated coke has the best desulfurization performance and the highest sulfur capacity is 10.81 mg/g.
