Based on the current severe greenhouse effect,it introduced the carbon dioxide emission with the fossil fuel consumption in this paper and the usage and policies of carbon dioxide were also described.Several multi-stage pressure swing adsorption(PSA)processes were proposed to separate feed gas with complex components.Carbon dioxide was enriched and purified as well as the recovery of light components in the treatment, which processed great environmental benefits and industrial guiding significance. In this study, simulation and experiment are investigated simultaneously to study different systems.Notably, different two-stage PSA processes matched different system. The mathematical models contained adsorption bed and other auxiliary equipment, such as pump and gas buffer. The one-dimension-discrete method was used to demonstrate the mass and energy transmission among gas, adsorbent and wall in adsorption bed.Several saturated adsorption capacity were measured under different temperature and pressure, and then the isotherms were fitted based on“Extended Langmuir equation”to ensure the accuracy of numerical calculation. In the study of pre-combustion carbon capture,a typical steam methane reforming(SMR)mixture(H2:CO2:CH4:CO=76:20:3.5:0.5,vol)was selected as object.A 6-bed-11-step process was designed to produce 95+%carbon dioxide while a 6-bed-13-step was established to obtain 99.995+%hydrogen.In the research of after-combustion carbon capture, carbon molecular sieve(CMS)was used to separate the idealized dry flue gas(CO2:N2=15:85,vol),and zeolite 13X was adopted to refined carbon dioxide to 95+%.Meanwhile,the effects of three key variables on recovery and purity were discussed. Moreover,an onsite two-stage PSA process was built to make full use of low-quality associated gas in the aspect of enhanced oil recovery(EOR)process. The heavy component was reinjected back, and the light component was transferred into the natural-gas pipeline and transported to plants for further purification.
