Study On Household Waste Classification Behavior And Influencing Factors

With the rapid development of the economy,the rapid upgrade of consumption levels,the phenomenon of “garbage besieged city” has become an important topic of current urban environmental governance.Garbage classification is of great significance to solve the dilemma of “garbage siege city”,cultivate good environmental habits of residents,promote the transformation of production mode,build an environmental governance pattern of co-construction,co-governance and sharing,and improve the level of ecological civilization.However,because of the different environmental values of residents,the imperfect incentive and restraint mechanism of garbage classification,the insufficient efficiency of social capital management and the imperfect infrastructure of garbage classification,the residents’ garbage classification behavior is not effective and active,which affects the pilot operation of urban residents’ garbage classification.Therefore,exploring the influencing factors of residents’ waste classification behavior,and proposing corresponding governance measures,which have important theoretical value and practical significance for solving urban waste difficulties.Firstly,based on the theory of planned behavior,the theory of social capital and the theory of collaborative governance,this paper constructs the index system of influencing factors of residents’ garbage sorting behavior.Taking the residents of the Wuhan Garbage Classification pilot area--East and West Lake District for research objects,this paper conducts a field survey by means of random sampling,and then use the mathematical statistical method to analyze the residents’ garbage cognition,attitude,will and behavior.It is considered that the overall cognitive level of residents in the East and West Lake District is high,and the garbage classification knowledge and related policies are more familiar.The garbage classification information is mainly from publicity and education of government and civil society.Most residents of garbage sorting hold a positive attitude,think garbage classification is good for saving resource and construction of ecological civilization;In terms of garbage classification willingness,most residents are willing to participate in the garbage classification pilot.However,due to various conditions constraints,the overall scores of residents’ actual garbage classification behavior are not high,which are manifested as the accuracy to be improved,the gap in the sense of efficacy,and the mutual wait-and-see mentality.Secondly,SPSS 24.0 software and STATA16.0 software were used for reliability and validity test,differentiation analysis,correlation analysis and regression analysis of the data,and it was found that the main influencing factors of residents’ garbage classification behavior were: social network,government publicity,reward and punishment system,social norms,market mechanism,and the degree of perfection of garbage classification facilities.In the direction of influence,the greater the scale of social networks,the more frequent the interaction between residents,the more smooth the information transmission,the stronger the willingness of residents to participate in garbage classification,and the higher the garbage classification behavior;The greater the government propaganda,the more severe the award and punishment measures,the higher the social standards,the more affluent mechanism of residents’ mutual supervision,the higher the level of garbage classification;Market service more perfect,garbage sorting facilities more perfect,garbage sorting behavior level is higher.In terms of demographic variables,age,education level,marital status,political status and occupation affect the specific significance of residents’ garbage classification behavior.At the same time,empirical research further shows that the social capital of the community has an important impact on residents’ garbage classification behavior.Garbage classification requires government,communities,markets and residents to governance,and form a role of environmental governance sharing.Finally,put forward the main measures to improve the residents’ garbage sorting behavior: Cultivate the social capital of the garbage classification community,broaden the promotional channels of garbage sorting,optimize the garbage classification system,improve the market entity of garbage classification,and improve the infrastructure of garbage classification,etc.
