| The Fuyang River is an important river in Handan, and heavy metal pollution in this region has been a serious problem in recent years. To grasp the general status of heavy metals in the Handan section of the Fuyang River, ecological risks and to analyze their sources is the basis and prerequisite for determining pollution prevention and control priorities in the Handan section of the river. In this study, heavy metal elements in river water and sediment of the Fuyang River Handan section were selected as evaluation elements, firstly, their content characteristics were described, then their spatial distribution characteristics were analyzed by the kriging spatial difference method, and then the Nemero integrated pollution index was calculated to assess the risk of heavy metal pollution. In this study, both the ground accumulation index and the potential ecological risk index of heavy metals in sediments were calculated to assess their ecological risks. Finally, correlation analysis, principal component analysis and K-means clustering methods were used for source analysis, and the following conclusions were obtained:(1)The river water was slightly alkaline, and the average content of heavy metal elements was Cr(6.34μg/L)> Se(5.22μg/L)> Al(4.98μg/L)> Ni(2.26μg/L)> Zn(2.20μg/L)> As(1.86μg/L)> Cu(1.61μg/L)> Co(0.20μg/L),among which Cr and Se exceeded the water quality standard with the exceedance rate of 30.43% and 8.69%,respectively.The Kriging difference method indicates that the river water has a high content in the Fengfeng mining area.River water Nemerow Pollution Index is 0.92,reaching a slight pollution level.(2)The average content of heavy metal elements in the sediment of the water system showed Cr(596.77mg/kg)> Cu(378.88mg/kg)> Ni(181.15mg/kg)> Cd(115.4mg/kg)> As(110.01mg/kg)> Se(72.99mg/kg)> Co(66.13mg/kg),Cu exceeded the average content of the Fuyang River basin in 2013,while Cr,Ni,As and Co were lower than the average content of each heavy metal in the Fuyang River basin. The Kriging interpolation method indicates that As,Se,Co,Cr,Cu,and Ni are high in the magnetic county section. The results of the Nemerow Integrated Pollution Index show that the heavy metal pollution in the sediment samples is more serious compared to the water bodies. The sediment of the water system has a Nemerow Pollution Index is 19.63,which is a serious pollution level, and the main potential contributing factor is Cu.The mean value of RI in the study area is 242.10,which shows a moderate risk, and the main contributing factor is Cu.Heavy metal pollution is mainly affected by domestic sewage and industrial wastewater.Ni,Se,Co and Zn in river water may come from domestic sewage;whereas Al and Cr may come from industrial activities such as ceramic industry. As,Cr,Ni,Se and Co in the sediment of the water system may come from the discharge of domestic sewage;Cr and Cu may come from industrial activities such as stone factory and ceramic factory. |
