Since reform and opening up,our country on the urbanization and industrialization construction has achieved excellent results, although the economy has been rapid development, ecology has been serious damage, all kinds of environmental problems, which makes people began to think of the relationship between environmental protection and economic development,so,in order to give attention to both economic development and environmental protection,China has put forward the green development with efficiency, harmony and sustainability as the goal, and has become the strategic policy of China’s development. In the financial field, promote programmatic document on the implementation of green credit for the "green credit guide",it released in 2012 by the CBRC,which laid the cornerstone of the development of green credit,to the implementation of green credit played a guiding role, then introduced a series of files are for commercial Banks emphasize green credit,However, according to the statistical analysis of the implementation status of green credit policies of commercial banks in this paper,it is found that the degree of implementation of policies is not the same among banks. Some banks have strong implementation and good policy implementation effects, while some banks take a negative attitude towards policies and the implementation is not ideal.According to principal-agent theory, executives commissioned thereby has a decisive role on the decision of commercial Banks, and according to the theory of high ladder, executive characteristics for executives have the potential to influence decisions,so the executive characteristics the impact of the implementation of green credit policy for promoting commercial Banks to actively implement the green credit policy is of great significance. This paper analyzes the characteristics of senior executives from two aspects, namely, the characteristics of senior executives’ personal background and the heterogeneity of senior executives’ characteristics. The impact on the implementation of green credit policies of commercial banks will also be carried out from these two aspects. This article defines executives background characteristics as executives’ demographic characteristics, main is based on theory of high ladder, then combined with the feature of executive research in the field of literature, the final choice will be executive background characteristics variables as gender, age, education, tenure and compensation,to study their impact on commercial bank’s implementation of green credit policy;Heterogeneity refers to the characteristic of senior executives differences in background characteristics, according to the theory of group decision-making,each member of the team because growth environment is different,so have different personal background, values, etc, the size of the executive team heterogeneity will eventually impact on group decision making,so this paper will quantify the heterogeneity of executive characteristics,This paper studies the impact of the heterogeneity of executive characteristics on the implementation of green credit policies of commercial banks. Finally,in order to study whether there is difference in the significance of the impact of different characteristics of bank executives, grouping regression is performed on the samples. In this paper, the research objects are selected as 27 commercial banks listed in A-share market from 2013 to 2020.After collecting data and conducting empirical analysis, the following conclusions are drawn: First,The influence of senior executives’ background characteristics on the implementation of green credit policies of commercial banks: No matter the proportion of female executives, the age of executives,or the tenure of executives,is significantly positively correlated with the implementation effect of green credit policies in banks, while executive compensation is negatively correlated, while the educational background of executives in commercial banks is not significantly correlated with the implementation of green credit policies.Second,Impact of characteristic heterogeneity of senior executives on the implementation of green credit policies of commercial banks: The heterogeneity of senior executives’ age and tenure will reduce the implementation degree of green credit policies, while the heterogeneity of other characteristics of senior executives has no significant impact on the implementation of green credit policies.Third,in the case of to distinguish the nature of the bank, bank executives characteristics with different properties to influence on the implementation of the green credit policy: through comparing with the results of regression, was found in city business, bank executives background characteristics influence the most significant, and the effect of characteristics of executives in the state-owned commercial Banks is the most was not significant; The heterogeneity of executive characteristics in joint-stock commercial banks is the most significant, while that in state-owned commercial banks is the least significant.According to the final conclusion of the study, this paper will put forward a series of suggestions on how to build the senior management team of commercial banks reasonably to promote commercial banks to strengthen the implementation of green credit policies
