| Waste cigarette butt is a kind of pollutant that is difficult to biodegrade,which seriously endangers the natural environment and biological health.However,carbon materials derived from waste cigarette butts have a larger specific surface area,a rich pore structure and a larger ion storage capacity.Therefore,they are applied in many fields.The purpose of this paper is to explore the preparation of carbon materials derived from waste cigarette butts and apply them as the active material of electrodes to two systems:capacitive deionization(CDI)and nitrate detection.(1)The preparation of carbon materials derived from waste cigarette butts.Waste cigarette butts are successfully recycled into waste cigarette butts derived carbon materials.The best conditions for material synthesis were explored.The experiment proved that the material synthesized under the chemical activation of the smoked waste cigarette butts at 750°C(SCC-750)has the best morphology and electrochemical performance.And the material reaches the pore volume of 1.75 cm~3/g,the specific surface of 3093.10 m~2/g,and the specific capacitance of 201.09 F/g.This not only provides new idea for solving the problem of cigarette butt pollution,but also reduces the synthesis cost of activated carbon.(2)Apply the carbon material derived from waste cigarette butts to CDI.Because the synthesized SCC-750 material has a porous morphology and excellent electrical properties,it is considered to be used in CDI.The desalination test proves that the desalination capacity of the SCC-750 electrode is good,and it can still basically maintain a high desalination rate of 10.27 mg/g after more than 20 cycles of stability tests.The successful application of carbon materials derived from waste cigarette butts in CDI not only realizes the effective recycling of waste cigarette butts,it also facilitates the development of CDI electrode materials.(3)Apply carbon materials derived from waste cigarette butts to the detection of nitrate content.As a common water pollutant,nitrate detection has always been the focus of researchers.In order to eliminate the influence of soluble organic matter during the measurement,we use SCC-750 as the electrode active material of the membrane capacitance deionization(MCDI)device.After the water sample is pre-treated by the MCDI device,the nitrate and soluble organic matter can be effectively separated,then we combine UV spectrometer for the detection of nitrate content.Compared with the environmental protection industry standard of the people’s Republic of China(hereinafter referred to as CNS),the nitrate concentration value measured in this work is closer to the value measured by ion chromatography(standard value),and has a better relative error distribution.This proves that the innovative nitrate content detection method developed in this experiment is simple and effective. |
