During the years of the Kaiyuan reign of the Tang Dynasty, the Zen Master for conquering demons of the Lingyan Temple in Mount Tai organized all Buddhist trainees to practice.During the period of practice, all Buddhist trainees "made tea with their carry-on tea set",which is considered to be the earliest record with evidences on the history of tea drinking in the Mount Tai area.In the Song and Yuan dynasties, the Mount Tai area,as the north border of tea planting area, had more prosperous tea culture and had developed into a fashion. In Ming and Qing dynasties, the tea drinking and planting had been expanded;there are records of tea drinking in Mount Tai area in official books;many tea customs had been expanded from the tea drinking habit, such as tea banquet, tea worship, and providing tea for free.During the period of the Republic of China, the General Feng Yuxiang, who lived in Mount Tai,once dispatched some people to learn and make a survey on the tea planting in the southern tea gardens, and there were some records in the newspapers at that time, such as "Mount Tai Tea House" and "Mount Tai Tea News".As a characteristic tea in the northern boundary of the geographical location of ancient tea planting--Mount Tai area,Nv’er Tea from Mount Tai was developed during the historical development and evolution of tea drinking and planting in the Mount Tai area.Since the 1990 s,Nv’er Tea from Mount Tai was be noticed again. However, after inheritance and evolution, nowadays’ Nv’er Tea from Mount Tai has a certain traditional rupture with the ancient Nv’er Tea from Mount Tai in terms of production process.Published articles on Nv’er Tea from Mount Tai are only on the surface of folklore, and specialized research on Nv’er Tea from Mount Tai’s traditional craft inheritance from the perspective of scientific and technological history is still lacking.Through the combing of Nv’er Tea from Mount Tai’s ancient books and documents, the field investigation of its production process, and the recording and collation, this paper strives to restore the light of Nv’er Tea from Mount Tai through the long historical tunnel;based on the tea drinking custom and the development history of tea industry in Mount-Tai area, the historical records, novel theory, new evidence, folklore, modern development and intangible cultural heritage protection of Nv’er Tea are fully discussed, mainly including three parts. In the first part, starting from the literature Stromata of Zitao Pavillion written by Li Rihua of the Ming Dynasty--the earliest evidential records of Nv’er Tea,the literature records of Nv’er Tea are organized and conducted texture research on the tea base plant "green paulownia" mentioned in the literature.Secondly, the origin and development process of Nv’er Tea are studied, and the production scale and quality evaluation are reasonably deduced by professional tea literature such as chronicles records and The Classic of Tea.Thirdly,a texture research is conducted on the term "green paulownia" according to the ancient books that record the Nv’er Tea and more earlier plant ancestry books such as Collected Notes to Canon of Materia Medica,Qimin Yaoshu,A Chronicle of Paulownia,Compendium of Materia Medica, and Kangxi Dictionary,it is found in this paper that the so-called "green paulownia" in ancient books is actually "a Chinese parasol without core",which is a kind of "paulownia".In the second part, following the above content and based on the texture research on the tea base plant "green paulownia",some new evidences are put forward for the conclusion that in the origin of "Nv’er Tea"--The Dream of Red Mansions,it is mentioned that the "Nv’er Tea" is the "Nv’er Tea" from Mount Tai rather than Yunnan Pu-erh Tea.Specifically, from the perspectives of the living era of the novel The Dream of Red Mansions and the author, the novel contents, and the efficiency comparison between Nv’er Tea from Mount Tai and Nv’er Tea from Yunnan,it is deducted that the tea Jia Baoyu drinks is Nv’er Tea from Mount Tai.Then, related folk stories about Nv’er Tea from Mount Tai are organized. In the third part, the modern development of Nv’er Tea from Mount Tai is studied.Through field surveys and Through field, and collection of interview content and video data, the planting technology and processing technology of modern Nv’er Tea from Mount Tai are organized. The history of the production method of modern Nv’er Tea from Mount Tai is explored by comparing the modern fried green tea and the processing technology of green tea produced at the same latitude in the Mount Tai area, and the ancient general fried green tea processing technology. At the same time, based on the policy background "introducing tea from the south to the north",the development situation of the tea industry in Mount Tai area since the founding of the People’s Republic of China is expounded. On this basis, the nature, significance, value of intangible cultural heritage protection and specific methods of modern Nv’er Tea from Mount Tai are explored.
