| With the rapid development of new technologies such as artificial intelligence,big data,and the Internet of Things,the fourth industrial revolution is surging.In order to seize the development opportunities in the new industrial revolution,a large number of new engineering talents with interdisciplinary vision,leading industry innovation ability,project practice ability and team collaboration communication ability are needed to support.The construction of new engineering is precisely the reform of higher engineering education in China to cultivate this new type of engineering talents.Under the new engineering education concept,students’ learning behavior will definitely change,and the traditional learning space can’t provide convenient and effective spatial support for the new learning behavior.Therefore,it is necessary to study and explore a learning space model suitable for the new engineering education concept.This article takes the learning space of the university’s comprehensive scientific research building under the new engineering education concept as the main research object.Firstly,it clarified the related concepts of new engineering,sorted out the existing research results on higher engineering education at home and abroad,and interpreted the new engineering education concept and learning space model.Secondly,it analyzes the needs of the new engineering education concept for the experimental teaching space,open communication learning space and the overall organization of the learning space with examples.On this basis,several different types and different organizational forms of learning space models suitable for the concept of new engineering education are summarized.These models are:three experimental teaching space models,namely,full-cycle project practice space model.interdisciplinary collaborative space model,flexible and variable space mode;two types of open communication learning space modes are the internal space mode combined with corridors,stairs,halls,and the external space mode combined with entrances,courtyards,overheads,roofs,and outdoor platforms;two major types of learning space organization modes are linear,centripetal,juxtaposition,fishbone,unit-type planar organization mode and through-type,vertical grouping threedimensional organization mode.Finally,in conjunction with the Xiamen University’s new engineering research and development building project,the learning space model summarized above is applied to design practice,with a view to providing a valuable reference for the design of the learning space of the university’s comprehensive scientific research building under the new engineering background. |
