With the rapid development of the urban economy,the number of vehicles is also rising,which has brought many problems to the existing traffic management system(such as traffic safety,traffic congestion and so on).To solve these problems,some researches have designed the intelligent transportation system to realize the information interaction between vehicles and base stations.In the intelligent transportation systems,the intensive deployment of BSs is an effective means to expand the coverage of base stations and increase network capacity,but it will increase the operating cost of BSs.In order to earn more profits,network operators can change the switching state of BSs according to the communication load.It will reduce resource waste and energy waste of base stations in this way,and the profits of the network operators are improved.However,most of the current researches focus on switching methods of BSs in the cellular network,and few researches consider switching methods of BSs in the VANTEs.Therefore,this paper studies switching methods of roadside base station for VANTEs from two perspectives.Firstly,the intensive deployment of BSs will lead to idle resources of BSs.Therefore,to make full use of the bandwidth resources of roadside base stations,a switching method of roadside base station from the perspective of bandwidth resource optimization is designed.The goal is to maximize operator’s revenue under the multiple roadside base stations scenario.The method optimizes switching states of roadside base stations and bandwidth resources of the vehicles,we model the problem of maximizing operator’s revenue as a mixed integer nonlinear problem,decomposed into two sub-problems to solve.Secondly,the intensive deployment of BSs will also cause more energy consumption.Therefore,to reduce the energy consumption cost of roadside base stations,a switching method of roadside base station which is based on vehicle communication scheduling is studied.The object is to minimize the energy consumption cost under a roadside base station scenario.The method optimizes switching states of roadside base stations and communication scheduling of vehicles,we model the problem of minimizing energy cost as a 0-1 integer nonlinear problem,using heuristic algorithm to solve it.Finally,experimental verification and results on the two proposed methods are carriedout in the paper.For switching method of roadside base station based on bandwidth resource optimization,the experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can increase the data collected of roadside base stations and improve the operator’s revenue compared with the other two existing algorithms.For switching method of roadside base station based on vehicle communication scheduling,the experimental results show that heuristic algorithms more effectively reduce the energy cost of the roadside base stations.
