Additive/Subtractive Hybrid Manufacturing is a hybrid manufacturing method that combines additive manufacturing with subtractive manufacturing,which overcomes the defects such as low dimensional accuracy and poor mechanical properties.It can be used for a wide range of purposes,such as " grow out of nothing " product generation to produce products with better quality than 3D printing.It can also be used to repair parts,add or subtract materials from the original damaged parts,repair damaged parts and reduce maintenance costs.However,the CAD/CAM software on the market cannot carry out process planning for the flexible hybrid processing equipment with large stiffness,high flexibility and wide envelopment range developed by our team.To solve this problem,this paper develops a hybrid processing system based on UG and studies the repair process of damaged parts.First of all,this paper analyzes the functions and corresponding functional modules required by the additive and subtractive hybrid machining process system,introduces the reverse molding subsystem and developes additive and subtractive hybrid machining system,and discusses the interaction mechanism between the additive and subtractive hybrid machining and the influence on the repair of parts.Then,the realization process of add and subtract material remanufacturing path planning is deeply studied.The damaged parts are scanned by a 3d scanner to obtain the point cloud data containing location information.The data are reversely processed into a 3d defect model by Geomagic and other software.The defect model and the complete model Boolean operation in the database are used to obtain the model to be repaired.In order to realize the automation of damaged parts repair path generation,based on the UG environment add or subtract in material hybrid processing technology system is developed,the system can carry on the adaptive layered,add and subtract to the damaged parts material compound machining path planning,and through a knife statements for output to the specified file,users can also set the process parameters in the interface.Due to the particularity of the equipment structure,a special post-processor is also made to process the source file of the tool into NC code.Then,the process of add and subtract material was simulated.Finite element software is used to simulate the process of addition and subtraction,the influence of addition and subtraction on the temperature and stress of the workpiece under different paths is analyzed,and the optimal paths of addition and subtraction are obtained respectively.In order to improve the machining efficiency and tool life,the two processes can be connected in series,this paper also simulates the milling force at different temperatures,to find the best reduction temperature after the addition of material.Finally,the repair path of the damaged rack is planned.The point cloud data of damaged parts were obtained by 3d scanner,and the data were synthesized into a solid model by reverse processing software.According to the set parameters,the process system was used to plan the path of the model and output the cutter source file.Then the tool source file is imported into the UG processing module to simulate the process of cutting,and the output is NC code.The process of planning the path of damaged parts is realized successfully in the experiment,and the feasibility of the system is proved.
