Aviation support system is a system to ensure the carrier-based planes to participate in normal combat and training.Aircraft carrier is a ship combat platform with carrier-based planes as the main attack weapon,so the aviation support system plays an extremely important role.Sometimes,the effectiveness of the aviation support system would directly affect the combat effectiveness in the joint fleet of carrier-based planes.The arresting device for carrier-based planes is an essential auxiliary equipment of the aviation support system,ensuring the safe landing of the carrier-based planes on the limited length of the carrier deck.For among the accidents between carrier-based planes and aircraft carriers,the accidents in the process of arresting account for a large part.Therefore,the research on the arresting device is particularly important.In the arresting device,there is a steel cable structure for contacting the carrier-based planes directly,and transmitting the kinetic energy of carrier-based planes to the following components to make the braking of carrier-based planes in a limited distance.That’s why it is also called the "lifeline" for carrier-based planes.During the working process,the steel cable structure would bear high-speed impact from the carrier-based planes,resulting in a severe stress state,and such a severe state makes the steel cable the most vulnerable structure to damage and failure.The main failure mode for the steel cable structure is fatigue failure under cyclic stress.Therefore,this paper would also take the cable structure in the aviation support system as the research object.In this paper,the role,working principle,development process,domestic and overseas research status,and structural characteristics of the cable structure would be introduced,in order to fully investigate the research content and improve the preliminary understanding of the cable structure.With relevant investigation completed,the main moving form of the steel cable structure affected by stress wave from the carrier-based planes in the process of landing as well as the equations of mathematical physics for the moving process would be analyzed through mathematical physics model,at the same time,the knowledge of mathematical physics method would be applied to determine all important characteristic parameters of the motion.After theoretical analysis,the Automatic Dynamic Analysis of Mechanical Systems,also called ADAMS would be used to carry out dynamic simulation analysis of the steel cable structure.Through a platform in ADAMS called Adams/view,after the completing of modeling for the steel cable structure with the corresponding structural parameters set already,the dynamic simulation would be carried out.After simulation,the numerical relationship at the point with the maximum stress between the stress and time would be obtained in order to compare with theoretical value for verification.After carrying out all the objectives above,the stress and time history of the cable structure would be processed into the load spectrum in the process of arresting.And through the joint simulation with MATLAB platform,the stress cycle of the load on the cable would also be obtained as well as the total life.
