| This paper takes the topology optimization design method of the connection structure as the research object.In view of the limitations of conventional topology optimization techniques in the connection structure,this paper innovatively proposes a method of using the finite element’s attribution state as the design variables,which extends the scope of topology optimization from single continuous flexible bodies to multiple flexible bodies,and practically solved an optimization design problem of the tenon-mortise joint in an engineering project.This new method for designing connection structures is named as Attribution-selection topology(ATS Topology).Firstly,the basic principles and characteristics of several major topology optimization techniques are discussed,the limitations of these conventional methods are clarified.In order to avoid the blindness and arbitrariness of the connection structure design,it is proposed to use the attribution state of the element as the design variables,so that the conventional ‘0-1’ optimization problem is transformed into the ‘1-2’ optimization problem which is applicable to the connection structures.Then,based on the principles and characteristics of cellular automata theory,an optimization model based on CA was built,and innovative concepts such as basic unit and amplification technology were proposed to realize the modification of field variables.and a combination of three discriminant Boolean operations is used as the error signal,and the local control rule is constructed accordingly.Then combined with an actual calculation example in engineering,the optimization results of this method are analyzed.After correcting the model errors such as gaps around contact surfaces and boundary smoothness,the performance of the optimization results is verified again.The analysis result shows that the ATS topology optimization method can produce inspiring connection structure forms.Finally,based on practical examples,the advantages and disadvantages of the selective topology optimization method are evaluated objectively.The analysis shows that the ATS topology optimization method can meet the engineering needs,but there are still several defects such as low model accuracy,then a discussion on the solution of these defects is supposed to provide a certain reference for subsequent researches. |
