The vortex tube is a kind of separating devices which separates compressed air with certain temperature difference between hot and cold streams.The vortex tube has a series of advantages,such as reliable safety,easy operation,light weight,no rotary parts,long time of continuous work and so on.This makes the vortex tube widely used in many fields.In this thesis,based on the basic theory of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics,fluid movement within the vortex tube process were analyzed,and selected the appropriate turbulence model.Through the numerical simulation and the analysis and comparison of the experiment to identify the effect of the vortex tube structural parameters on the performance of vortex tube trends,and did the combination analysis of the interactive relationship between the structure parameter,which lays the foundation for the further research of vortex tube.In this thesis,the main research contents are as follows:By analyzing the parameters of the vortex tube from the working process and concluding the main factors which influence the performance of the vortex tube,found two categories which contains the thermal physical parameters of the inlet pressure,the cold flow and vortex generator,and the structure parameters of cold tube and hot tube.According to the laws of thermodynamics,entropy graph shows the use of temperature thermodynamic process inside the vortex tube separation.At the same time,according to the law of conservation of energy,the concept of mandatory application of free vortex and forced vortex to analyze the internal flow of vortex tube.The use of special fluid mechanics software Fluent to simulate and analyze the vortex tube,and used Standard k-ε model and Realizable k-ε model to analyze flow field of the vortex tube.Through the comparison of the results obtained,were found that the most suitable model for the vortex tube is Realizable k-ε.Using the selected model simulation analysis of the channel width and height,cold plate diameter,cold end tube taper,hot end tube taper,hot end tube diameter and the surface smoothness of vortex generator influence on the performance of vortex tube.Building the vortex tube experimental platform,experimentally studied aspects of the structural parameters.According to the experimental results,analyzed how the different structural parameters affect on the performance of the vortex tube,and drew a graph of the vortex tube structure parameters,which can affect the performance and best value.The experiment and simulation results were compared with the experiment and simulation curve basically consistent trend.Some areas exist difference because the vortex generator has an error surface conditions,and there are differences between the simplify model and laboratory equipment.Adopt the method of numerical simulation will be optimized by experiment and simulation results analysis of the width and height ratio of vortex generator channel,cold plate diameter and the hot end of pipe diameter ratio,the cold end and the hot end of pipe taper cone on the performance of vortex tube.
