| China-EU economic and trade cooperation is an important way to promote the sound development of China-EU bilateral relations.Since 2008,China’s investment in the EU has gradually expanded,and the industries and fields involved in investment have become more and more diverse.The development level of the EU’s manufacturing industry is in a leading position in the world.Therefore,the European Union has naturally become the main area where Chinese manufacturing companies are vying to invest.After 2010,the EU’s investment in attracting Chinese companies has steadily increased,and the bilateral investment cooperation situation is improving,and China has gradually become an increasingly important source of foreign investment in the EU’s manufacturing industry.In this context,this article uses the comparison of two cases to conduct an in-depth study of the relevant issues in the process of Chinese manufacturing companies’ direct investment in the EU.First,this article analyzes the general situation of China’s direct investment in EU manufacturing.Then,this article summarizes the characteristics of China’s direct investment in EU manufacturing from three aspects: the overall investment scale,investment flows to countries,and investor composition.It discusses a series of challenges faced in the investment process,and finally elaborated on the impact of the China-EU Comprehensive Investment Agreement,which was negotiated at the end of2020.Next,two cases of Chinese manufacturing’s direct investment in the European Union-Midea’s acquisition of the German KUKA Group and Hongxin Fund’s acquisition of the German company Aixtron,were conducted in-depth analysis,and through the comparison of the two cases B,experience and lessons have been drawn.The research in this article shows that at present,China’s direct investment in EU manufacturing has both opportunities and challenges;Chinese companies’ business environment in the EU still has room for improvement;Chinese companies’ access to investment in the EU is still restricted;The Agreement has brought new opportunities and challenges.To this end,this article believes that my country should use the "China-EU Agreement" as the standard to promote China-EU investment cooperation,taking valid methods to promote the of Chinese enterprises and host country enterprises’ coordinated development,do market research before foreign direct investment,actively promote the coordinated development of Chinese companies and EU companies. |
