Study On Damage Characteristics Of Female Occupants At The Second Row In Side Impact Of Passenger Cars

In recent years,with the continuous improvement of the number of cars in our country,the number of various traffic accidents is also increasing,resulting in serious casualties and property losses.Due to the research on passive safety of vehicle in our country is relatively late,and the research mainly focuses on the safety of vehicle body structure and the injury characteristics of front passenger,there is little research on the damage characteristics of the second row passenger in the vehicle when the vehicle is hit by a side impact.Therefore,on the basis of previous studies,the safety of the vehicle body and the damage characteristics of the second row of female passengers in side impact are studied by numerical simulation.First of all,this thesis takes the SID-IIs(D)dummies wearing three-point seat belt sitting on the struck side of the second row of a Ford SUV and a Toyota Sedan as the research object.With reference to the 2018 edition of the China New Car Assessment Procedures(C-NCAP)specified in the passenger car side touch test conditions,through the finite element simulation,the data of the deformation of B pillar,the intrusion of the inner panel of the rear door and the damage of the second row of dummies on the side hit by MDB are obtained.Then,considering the actual road environment,when the car is hit at different side positions,the damage of the second row of Toyota Dummies with three-point seat belts on the struck side of the car is studied.The results show that when the two models were sideswiped by an MDB under the test conditions specified in the 2018 C-NCAP:1)the maximum intrusion of interior panel of rear door of the Toyota car is only 74.4%of the Ford SUV,so the SUV’s body structure is more distorted than the car.2)the injuries of head except chest,abdomen,pelvis of dummy sitting at the collision side of the second row in the car are larger than those of dummy in the SUV.3)according to the injury index of the two cars and the high performance value of the injury index in the regulations,the female passenger with seat belt in the second row of the car is safe during the crash,but the abdomen injury of the dummy in the SUV is serious.When the MDB vertically collides with five different positions on the side of the Toyota:1)when the MDB crash car side of the position of the rear,the SID-IIs(D)dummies wearing three-point seat belt sitting on the struck side of the second row have more serious head injury;2)the head and chest injuries and comprehensive injuries of the dummy are the most serious when the MDB center line is aligned with the car’s R point of the car in a 450 ～ 550 mm vertical collision.
