With the development of society and the improvement of people’s living standard,there is a great demand for power energy and a high demand for power quality.While expanding the size of the power grid,it is also necessary to ensure the normal operation of the distribution network.The distribution network has a complex topology and is directly connected to users.Failures will result in reduced power supply reliability and economic loss.Therefore,in order to quickly and accurately diagnose and eliminate the fault section,it is significance to study the fault location technology of distribution network.Under the current development trend of smart grids,this paper focuses on the fault location method of distribution networks based on feeder automation technology.For the two types of fault location models including area division and distributed power supply,their parameter coding methods,switching functions,and fitness functions are studied separately.This paper proposes an improved bat algorithm that combines adaptive theory,differential evolution,and bat optimization algorithms to logically solve fault location problems with 0-1 constraints.The fast optimization ability of bat algorithm is used to search the fault section,while mutation,crossover and selection operations are introduced to improve the population diversity.In order to further balance the convergence speed and precision of the algorithm,this paper makes adaptive improvements to the speed,variation and crossover parameters of the algorithm.The performance test of standard functions and comparison and analysis with other intelligent algorithms show that the improved algorithm has more advantages.Finally,the improved bat algorithm was applied to the fault location model of the distribution network,and MATLAB was used to simulate a variety of fault situations with information distortion under different structures in the distribution network.The results show that the proposed algorithm can locate fault section accurately and quicklyand has high fault tolerance,which provides a new idea and method for locating fault section of distribution network.
