Since the lunar is the nearest star to the earth,lunar exploration is extremely important for science,politics and military.In recent years,a new upsurge of lunar exploration has occurred internationally.The design of the landing buffer mechanism is the basis of the lunar soft landing.The present researches mainly focus on innovative buffer materials,while researches on landing buffer mechanism are relatively few.The future manned lunar landing and the construction of the lunar base will need a large number of large / heavy landers,so it is imperative to study advanced landers.This article introduces the bionic design to carry out key technology research on a new concept landing structure / mechanism,inspired by the excellent cushioning ability and very skilled cushioning strategies of cats in running,jumping and climbing,and.The specific research contents are as follows:Based on a full investigation of domestic and foreign studies on feline biology,the feline’s movement mechanism is analyzed in detail from biological perspectives such as the morphological size ratio and mass distribution laws of felines.The posture during the entire jumping process and the reaction force on the feet by the ground is analyzed through the tests of making cat jump from platforms of different heights.Thus,the buffering characteristics of cats and the contribution of the cat’s front and hind legs on the buffering during the jumping process.A bionic landing mechanism model that meets the characteristics of cats’ jumping and landing buffer is proposed,and types of key components are selected.A multi-rigid body dynamic model and a transient non-linear impact model are both created,and simulations are performed with different landing attitudes based on the input parameters related to a large manned lunar lander in the future.The analysis results show that the designed landing buffer mechanism has excellent soft landing performance and meets the strength requirements during landing process.A new prototype of the bionic lander inspired by cats is developed to verify its reasonablity.The main environmental characteristics of the lunar surface and the corresponding simulation methods are introduced.The dynamic similarity relationship between the lunar probe models under different gravity fields and sizes is deduced.Its application in the impact tests of the lunar lander and the specific experimental scheme is studied.
