With the development of domestic transportation, various types new bridges have greatly facilitated people’s travel, but bridges are obstacles for navigation ships, which increases the risk of ship-bridge collision,so the risk assessment of ship-bridge collision is more important. In this paper, based on the relevant literature, the collision force and risk of the Island Bridge are analyzed and studied by theoretical calculation. The main contents are as follows:(1)A brief summary and review of the theory of ship-bridge collision accidents at home and abroad is made, and the significance of the research on ship-bridge collision is clarified.(2)This paper systematically introduces the components of ship bridge collision risk research, that is,ship collision force and ship collision probability research. The differences of different methods of ship collision force research are analyzed, and the advantages, disadvantages and limitations of each method are compared. This paper introduces five main models of ship collision probability of bridge, and makes a comparative analysis.(3)For the Island Bridge, the typical working conditions are calculated by numerical method, and the collision force diagram, bow damage, structural deformation and so on are analyzed.(4)On the basis of the above-mentioned finite element numerical simulation, the main factors affecting the collision force, such as speed, tonnage and angle of collision, are analyzed, and the influence of different factors on the collision process is discussed.(5)According to AASHTO method II,the risk probability of ship collision of the island bridge is analyzed, and the comprehensive risk assessment results of ship collision of the bridge are obtained by combining the calculation results of the above ship collision force.
