In recent years, capital investment in China’s construction industry has continued to increase, but the economic benefits have not been high.Relevant data shows that more than 50% of the economic benefits of developed countries are obtained through technological progress, while only 20%-30% in China. It shows that there is still a big gap between the technical level of China’s construction industry and developed countries. As a labor-intensive industry, the construction industry has always been relying on labor and capital investment to drive industrial development. The development status of the construction industry proves that relying solely on human and resource input can no longer meet the development needs of the construction industry, which further illustrates the importance and necessity of technological progress to drive the development of the construction industry.Based on the fact that repetitive projects account for a large proportion of the construction industry and the learning effect is obvious, this article applies the learning curve model to the construction industry.Starting from the source of technological progress in the construction industry-empirical factors and research and development factors-the analysis and calculation of the construction industry technology learning rate in China and various provinces and cities provide a basis for improving the technical level of the construction industry ChinaThis article first analyzes the current status of China’s construction industry technology development on the basis of a review of relevant domestic and foreign literature;secondly, through comparison and analysis, the two-factor learning curve model is selected as the theoretical model of this article, and the two-factor is derived through the revised C-D production function Learning curve model;again, using the derived learning curve model to calculate the technical learning rate of the construction industry in China and various provinces(cities)from 2002 to 2018,and analyze and compare the phase changes of the technical learning rate;finally, verify the results of this article The rationality of the construction industry, and proposes suggestions for promoting the technological progress of China’s construction industry from two aspects. The research results show that,in general,China ’ s construction industry is still a labor-intensive and extensive industry;the technology learning rate of “learning by doing” in China’s construction industry is 4.074%,and the technology learning rate of“learning by researching” is 1.854%;the value changes according to the study period Trends, the technology learning rate of China’s construction industry can be divided into 4 development stages;this article predicts that the average technology learning rate of “learning by researching” will exceed the average technology learning rate of“learning by doing” during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period; The horizontal comparative analysis of various provinces and cities shows that the construction industry technology learning rate varies greatly among provinces and cities. The learning rate of “learning by researching” is higher in the developed eastern regions, while the learning rate of “learning by doing” is higher in the underdeveloped areas in the central and western regions.
