Traditional rolling process is a surface strengthening technology,the development of the 1960 s,the technology has achieved a relatively wide range of applications.But in the field of rod-end joint bearing surface strengthening application is less,basically in the technology gap.In this paper,the rod end joint bearing rod bore surface and bore chamfer rolling strengthening as a research object,according to the rolling strengthening mechanism,using a combination of elasto-plastic finite element numerical simulation and experimental methods,aimed at studying the effect of different rolling conditions on the residual stress,surface quality and microstructure of the metal surface after rolling.The specific work is as follows.Firstly,the surface rolling strengthening mechanism was studied,and the rolling strengthening process of the rod bore surface and the chamfer of the rod bore was designed.The theoretical equations of rolling pressure and surface roughness were analyzed and calculated,and the value intervals of rolling process parameters were determined.Then,by using the numerical simulation,the distribution of the equivalent force and equivalent variation in the rolling process of the workpiece ring bore surface and bore chamfer under different rolling process parameters are studied,and the influence law of rolling strengthening on the residual stress of the metal surface after rolling is analyzed under different rolling parameters.Then,the paper independently developed a chamfering rolling tool based on CA6140,which was mounted on the tailstock of the lathe and provided with the required propulsive force,and the rolling process was completed by the relative rotation between the roller column of the chamfering tool and the workpiece ring chamfer.Five groups of rolling pressure and five groups of rolling speed were selected for surface rolling strengthening experiments on the chamfer of the inner hole of the workpiece ring,and the effect of rolling parameters on the surface residual stress was studied by 25 groups of experimental results.At the same time,six sets of representative rolling experimental results were selected to analyze the effects of propulsion force and rolling speed on the microstructure of the surface of the workpiece ring chamfer.Finally,the CA6140-based bore rolling tool is selected and installed on the lathe tailstock body to provide the required rolling pressure by adjusting the size of the rolling overrun.Five groups of rolling overload and five groups of rolling feed are selected for surface rolling strengthening experiments on the workpiece ring bore surface,and the effect of rolling parameters on surface roughness,surface residual stress and surface hardness is studied by 25 sets of experimental results.
