The recent emerging unmanned aerial vehicles(UAVs)flying platforms can break the limitations of traditional network infrastructure,and provide unlimited access to wireless data anywhere and anytime for anything.When occurred sudden natural disasters or other harsh environments,UAVs with flexible deployment and high mobility can better adapt to environment to perform tasks and complete the high quality communication between users.During communication,the endurance capability of UAV is widely concerned,which affects the transmission energy efficiency of the system.The solar-powered UAV with long endurance is the research object of this paper.This article aim to optimize the resource allocation of the UAV communication system and improve the transmission energy efficiency.Firstly,we consider the resource allocation problem of a single-user solar-powered UAV communication system.For a specific solar-powered UAV flight trajectory,defining the path loss model of the transmission link,taking flight speed and attitude as the research object,we propose a joint optimization problem of system downlink throughput and energy consumption.Next,we constructed energy efficiency model of communication system downlink,use the linear programming method to determine and solve the function of the model.We obtained the optimal flight strategy of UAVs,so that the resources of UAVs allocated rationally and energy efficiency maximized.Secondly,we consider the resource allocation problem of multi-user solar-powered UAV communication system.Constrained by user transmission power and UAV maximum flight speed,combined with fractional programming method and discretization idea,we defined the multi-objective optimization function of uplink throughput and system energy consumption.Construct the Lagrange dual function and KKT conditions,optimize the UAV’s flight speed,acceleration,attitude and user’s transmission power,propose an efficient resource allocation algorithm,and iteratively solve the optimal resource allocation strategy to obtain the optimal flight trajectory to maximize the energy efficiency of the UAV communication system’s uplink.Finally,we propose some simulation experiments about the resource allocation problem of the solar-powered UAV communication system to verify the validity and feasibility on the energy efficiency of the communication system.Moreover,performance evaluation demonstrate that the solar-powered UAV communication system has the advantages of the presented scheme than other UAVs.
