| With the rapid development of the construction engineering industry,lots of efforts have been made in the informatization of construction engineering.Although adequate storage and sharing of the engineering data during project cooperation are still in need,researchers’ attention is increasing.The consortium chain is a kind of blockchain that is currently widely concerned because it not only has technical characteristics such as partial decentralization,hard to tamper with,hard to forge,and traceability,but also has an appropriate access mechanism and proper permission control mechanism.Compared with other blockchain types,it should be noted that the consortium chain has higher throughput and lower cost;hence can serve as an effective tool for construction engineering.In response to these problems,and combined with the consortium chain ’s technical features,the consortium chain technology is applied to the project construction process.The project collaboration system is designed and implemented based on consortium chain,which can ensure the security and traceability of engineering data,privacy and confidentiality during data transfer process,as well as owner’s data sovereignty over engineering data.In this case,engineering data can be safely stored,queried and verified which effectively improves the project construction efficiency.Specifically,based on the open-source Hyperledger Fabric consortium chain framework,safe and reliable data storage and traceability to data sources have been achieved through storing data off-chain and storing metadata on-chain.By utilizing the decentralized ledger and smart contract,the engineering data in the lifetime of the project is summarized from different business systems and displayed to users as project engineering footprint.That way,it facilitates all parties involved in the project reasonably control the progress of the project.And integrating the role-based permission control framework provides the permission management function within the organization.it is demonstrated that the security and privacy of engineering data are ensured by using encryption and metadata stored in distributed ledgers during data transmission.This paper is a new attempt at applying blockchain technology in the construction industry,which solves the problems of weak data security,mutual distrust,and fragmentation of project engineering data.It has the potential to promote the digitalization and informatization of the construction industry. |
