A Study On The Cultural Construction Of Urban Rail Transit From The Perspective Of Collective Memory

As an important starting point of urban development,urban rail transit promotes the formation of the pattern of urban development and improves the quality of urban development.The construction of cultural space of rail transit provides a platform for the display and dissemination of local cultural heritage.Through the construction of urban rail transit culture,to achieve the effect of “taking a rail transit line,visiting a city and knowing a city".The cultural construction of urban rail transit is the reconstruction for past based on the present,the collection and combing of personal memory,and the social and collective culture framework.Based on the theory of collective memory theory,this thesis starts with the cultural wall of Chongqing rail transit,and discusses how Chongqing rail transit constructs cultural space and what role it plays in the urban cultural communication system.Based on the field investigation and induction of 190 stations of 10 existing subway lines in Chongqing,10 representative characteristic stations were selected.In view of the effectiveness of the communication dissemination of Chongqing rail transit culture construction,this thesis adopts the method of random sampling and the form of on-site interview to investigate the current culture construction of Chongqing rail transit from three aspects: functional cognition,visual performance and cultural propaganda.In the survey,100 passengers were randomly selected in the hall and platform floors of the station for interview.In addition,the practitioners of rail transit stations and designers of the cultural wall of rail transit were interviewed to ensure the full coverage of the survey samples.In the thesis,the cultural construction of Chongqing rail transit consists of three parts.Firstly,the building of Chongqing rail transit station integrates itself into the urban culture of Chongqing.Secondly,the station decoration represented by the station cultural wall has shaped two cultural images of Chongqing——a city with the rich culture of the Anti-Japanese War and a modern city with rapid development.The integration of the two urban cultural imaginations is accomplished through the association with the space around the station.Finally,the feelings and activities of passengers,on the one hand,enrich the urban cultural imagination of the station space,on the other hand,stimulate and enhance the vitality for the memory reappearance of historical sites and cultural heritage.Through the combing and analysis of the field research and interviews,the cultural construction of Chongqing rail transit also has some shortcomings.The prominent problems in the current rail transit culture construction are small quantity,scattered content and single form.The completed cultural construction of Chongqing rail transit is mostly limited to the previously built track space,which can only decorate the wall without affecting its normal operation,and fails to construct the track space.In the future,Chongqing will form a rail transit network of "22 lines and one ring",covering the whole area of the main urban area of Chongqing.As an important part of urban public art and an important window to display urban cultural features,the cultural construction of Chongqing rail transit still needs further improvement and optimization in the aspects of subject selection,artistic expression,space atmosphere,interactive technology and so on.In addition,through a detailed discussion of the principles of cultural construction and path selection of Chongqing rail transit,it provides a theoretical basis for the design scheme of cultural construction of rail transit in the later period,and guides the final implementation of the scheme.
