Research On The Walking Environment Reconstruction Of Urban Park Under The Background Of Aging Society

The aging problem is a natural result of social development.China has entered an aging society,and the aging speed is increasing year by year.The content,quality and demand of the elderly’s retirement and leisure life are constantly improving.As a typical park green space and important urban public space in Hefei,Hefei Huancheng Park has won the favor of the elderly because of its good green environment and facilities,and is one of the main places for urban elderly walking activities.However,the design of the park did not involve the design of the elderly at the beginning,there are many points that do not meet the needs of the elderly characteristics,the walking environment of Hefei Huancheng Park needs to be optimized.This article first to define pedestrian environment and walking,summarizes the evaluation of city walking several methods,and combining the physiological and social psychological characteristics of old people,build a city park for the elderly walking evaluation system,including six major categories,accessibility,efficiency,safety,comfort,identification,attractive.The walking environment of urban park is divided into three levels: walking area,walking path and walking node.Then,this paper selected three areas in Hefei Huancheng Park(Baohe River,Yinhe River and Heichiba)as the research object,investigated and analyzed the status quo of walking environment and walkability,and summarized two main problems,namely,the lack of walking breadth and the lack of walking intensity of the elderly.The fourth chapter of this paper focuses on the investigation and analysis of the use of the elderly in three walking areas from the perspective of walking areas,walking nodes and walking paths.Through behavioral observation and statistics of the number of elderly walkers,the path form and node form of the elderly’s preference were obtained,and the satisfaction of the elderly to the walking environment in the three areas was investigated by a questionnaire.Through the survey,it is found that the elderly prefer the walking path with wide sense of space,and prefer the walking nodes with good sense of enclosure and wide vision.Finally,combined with the results of questionnaire survey,behavioral observation and pedestrian statistics,the strategy to improve the walking environment of Hefei Ring Park was proposed.Combined with the preference of the elderly for walking environment,two paths and three nodes were selected for the aging design of walking environment,and the reconstruction guidelines were put forward.Through the research of this paper,it aims to construct the design framework of urban park walkability for the elderly,so as to provide a comfortable and safe walking environment for the elderly,create urban park green space suitable for the elderly to walk,and provide some reference and inspiration for the design of similar topics in the future.
