Research On Interactive Optimization Between Urban Transportation And Land Use Based On Quadratic Assignment Modeling Framework | | Posted on:2022-08-24 | Degree:Master | Type:Thesis | | Country:China | Candidate:J L Fu | Full Text:PDF | | GTID:2492306563473054 | Subject:Transportation planning and management | | Abstract/Summary: | PDF Full Text Request | | The interaction between transportation and land use has been one of the most challenging issues in transportation science,which promotes the evolution of cities and the uncoordinated development serves as one of the important factors leading to urban traffic problems.Therefore,it is necessary to establish an optimization model for the describing interaction between transportation and land use to provide a theoretical basis for urban traffic governance and public resource allocation.By mathematically defining the transportation and land use problem as a joint optimization of(a)activity space(AS)-to-location assignment,(b)demand distribution and(c)traffic flow assignment,this dissertation constructs a transportation and land use model by extending the quadratic assignment problem(QAP)and proposes two algorithms.A Lagrangian relaxation-based approach and a Maximal AS-to-location flow(Max ASLF)based heuristic algorithm are designed to solve the proposed models.This dissertation aims to provide theoretical method for coordinated governance of transportation and land use and promote sustainable development of transportation.The main contents of this dissertation are organized as follows.1.The relationship between transportation and land use under QAP is discussed systematically.Then transportation and land use model based on QAP(Model I)is established to minimize total travel cost considering possible flow distribution between different types of urban amenities such as community and commercial facilities,subject to the region-level demand control total constraint for certain activity types and capacity of activity space constraint.2.With constructing AS-location network,the proposed transportation and land use model is reformulated as a network design problem by incorporating traffic assignment while considering traffic congestion(Model II).Model II can optimize AS-location assignment,transportation network and traffic assignment jointly aiming to minimize total travel cost.3.The proposed transportation and land use model integrating traffic assignment can be decomposed to assignment problem and minimum cost flow problem with arc capacity constraint.Therefore,a Lagrangian relaxation-based approach is designed and is proved to be suitable for handling small scale case.A Maximal AS-to-location flow(Max ASLF)based heuristic algorithm is designed and proved to be suitable for large scale case.4.Various examples and discussions based on illustrative example and Sioux Falls network are provided to examine the effectiveness of the proposed methods.The empirical study is conducted on Shenfu New District to explore and capture the evolution characteristics of urban transportation and land use under traffic governance.The experimental results show that the proposed model and algorithm have effective feasibility and practicability. | | Keywords/Search Tags: | transportation and land use, urban layout, traffic assignment, quadratic assignment problem, network design | PDF Full Text Request | Related items |
