Cyclic train timetable are widely used in foreign high-speed railways because of their balanced services, regular stoppages, convenient transfers, and easy memorization of train schedules. They have also attracted the attention of our country’s railway operation and management departments. However, due to its limited types of stop and difficulty in adapting to the time-varying demand of passenger flow,it cannot be directly applied to China’s high-speed railways. Therefore,it is necessary to design a "cyclic + non-cyclic" train timetable. As the key technolo gy involved in the process of deleting and adding train paths, the research on related theories and methods needs to be further improved urgently. This paper combines the structural characteristics of China’s high-speed railway network and the characteristics of passenger flow, and studies the "cyclic + non-cyclic" train timetable designing method based on the synchronization optimization technology of deleting and adding lines. While giving full play to the characteristics of the cyclic timetable,it also takes into account the diverse passenger flow. The specific research work is as follows:(1)The process of designing “cyclic and non-cyclic” train timetable based on the strategy of deleting and adding train paths is proposed.Firstly, this paper analyzes the influencing factors of the problem of deleting and adding train paths, and enumerates the commonly used objective functions and constraints, and summarizes the characteristics of the problem;then,in view of the current situation of high-speed railway operation,it is proposed to use the technology of combining deleting and adding train paths todesigning “cyclic and non-cyclic” train timetable. Then, aiming at its key technologies of deleting and adding lines, the principle and strategy of the technology are analyzed systematically.(2)A model of deleting and adding train paths is constructed. The objective functions of minimum the damage to the periodic connection, the shortest total train travel time and the minimum the adjustment time are considered in the model.Constraints are considered from four perspectives of the original trains, the added trains, the deleting trains, and the periodicity of the timetable. The model(M1)is formulated with fixed stop plan.Based on the model M1,further quantify the influence of the stop plan on the utilization rate of the section capacity, establish the deleting and adding train path model of unfixed stop plan.Linearize the above two models, and further analyze the characteristics of the models, and design solutions to improve the efficiency of strategies to accelerate the speed of model solving.(3)Systen development and case study.First of all,for the established model,a system for deleting and adding train path based on cyclic train timetable is developed using C# programming language. Then taking the Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway and its related connecting railway lines as the research object. The Beijing South-Shanghai Hongqiao section is selected to analyze the relevant indicators of the timetable and periodic structure. The Beijing South-Xuzhou East section is selected for parameters sensitivity analysis, which provides auxiliary decision-making for the adjustment of transportation organization rules in the subsequent actual application process.C# are used to call CPLEX to solve the above problems and verify the validity and practicability of the model.
