Magnetic fluid is a new magnetic material with magnetism and fluid fluidity.For its unique magnetic properties,magnetic fluid seals are wildly used in many industry fields as aerospace,marine and machinery.Pressure resistance capability is the most important index to measure the performance of magnetic fluid seals,which is affected to dozens of variables as the materials,shapes and positions of teeth and the number of permanent magnets.However,there are few researching on the affection by multivariate variables,and do not get the mathematical relationship between each parameter and pressure resistance.As a result,cannot get optimal solutions by solving functions,and have to design magnetic fluid seal structures based on simulation results and experience.Based on this background,this paper builds magnetic fluid rotary seal models then researches into the magnetic field distribution and pressure resistance data of different model.The main researches are listed as follows:(1)Researches by selecting five factors affecting pressure resistance.Based on the magnetic fluid sealing device of the water washing tank,builds the sealing scheme.Designs the structure and material for ferrofluid,shaft,pole boots and permanent magnets.In the end,chooses five materials of pole boot,two positions of teeth and four shapes of teeth.Besides,defines the ranges of teeth and permanent magnets,and sets the geometric boundary conditions of model.(2)Develops a co-simulation software based on COMSOL and MATLAB.After setting the range of parameters,MATLAB automatically calls COMSOL to simulate and save data.Gets more than 5000 magnetic force line distribution maps,magnetic field intensity cloud charts and pressure resistance data.(3)Using SPSS 25.0 to calculate correction between variables.By log transforming pressure resistance data and adjusting function with weighted least square,the regression equation prediction model was established between pressure resistance and other variables.(4)Sorts pressure resistance data based on multiple conditions,then analyzes its frequency distribution histograms and heatmaps to get the rules about how the pressure resistance is affected by one variable when other variables do not change and the design criterion about designing seal structure.Includes 44 figures,26 tables and 73 reference articles.
