Bazi is a typical landform of Guizhou. It is mainly distributed in mountain basins, river valleys and foothills. The terrain is flat and the soil is fertile. It is a valuable cultivated land resource in mountainous areas. There are more than 10,000 dams in Guizhou, accounting for about a quarter of Guizhou’s arable land.It is Guizhou’s main grain production area and a densely populated area where many ethnic groups have emerged. At present, the academic circles seldom involve studying the spatial morphology of traditional villages in the Bazi area of Guizhou with the special geographical unit of Bazi as the research object. In order to enrich the study of regional Bazi settlements and increase the case studies of ethnic integration areas, after two field investigations, satellite remote sensing image identification and literature review, the article selected Diwo Bazi and surrounding eight areas as the research object, whichis in Hefeng Township,Kaiyang County,Guiyang City, used the methods of field investigation and plane morphology analysis to study the spatial morphology of Diwobazi.Through research,it is found that under the special geographic unit of Bazi, the traditional villages of Diwobazi have typical regional characteristics such as occupancy of mountains and no land, centripetal spatial structure centered on bazi, and beaded road organization mode. The ethnic origin is the main difference between different villages in Diwobazi. And eight villages in Diwobazi can be divided into three types: Han village,Buyi village and Hanbu village based on the proportion of ethnic population as the main factor.Three typical representative villages,Shuitou Village,Matou Village, and Toumuzhai Village are selected respectively, and a comparative study of their spatial forms reveals that at the village level, the three villages have basically the same constituent elements. And in terms of the element composition model,Shuitou Village is of "Steep mountain – Small villages –Straight road – Many fields – Near water " type;Matou Village is of "Big mountain – Big villages – Ring road – Around water – Far away from fields" type;Toumu Village is of "Gentle mountain – Small villages – Slope road – Near field – Far away from water" type.At the level within village,Shuitou Village is small in scale and strip-shaped.The street system unit is mainly along the street, the plot pattern is mainly in the row type, and the building arrangement is mainly single.Matou Village is large in scale and presents a cluster shape. The street system unit is mainly comb-shaped,the plot pattern is mainly stepped, and the building arrangement is mainly composed of courtyards;Toumu Village is small in scale and finger-shaped.Its street system units are mainly along the street and comb-shaped,plot pattern is mainly stepped and row-type,and the building arrangement is mainly single and composed of courtyards. In addition, under the special geographic unit of Bazi,Diwobazi has formed a community of "geographical-industrial-spiritual relationship".Although there are objective ethnic differences in blood relationship, national amalgamation is a major trend in the development of the Bazi region.
