With the rapid development of urbanization process in China, two typical urban residential spaces, namely urban villages and residential areas, have appeared in Shenzhen. There are certain differences between them in terms of spatial form, environmental appearance, residential population, and price, etc. These differences have gradually caused the differences in the physical space environment and the social environment between them, which may lead to different soundscapes, which is not conducive to the balanced development of the urban human settlement environment. Therefore, this study adopts internationally standardized soundscape research methods to explore the soundscape of urban villages and residential areas from two aspects: soundscape evaluation and soundscape influencing factors.By comparing the similarities and differences between soundscape of urban villages and residential areas, the problem of the uneven development of urban human settlements can be solved from the perspective of soundscapes. It will be providing a theoretical basis for improving the environmental quality of urban living spaces, and will also provide certain guidance and suggestions for the renewal and development of the city.Through on-site surveys of urban villages and residential areas in different administrative regions of Shenzhen, this study summarizes the basic characteristics of urban villages and residential areas in Shenzhen.Based on this basic feature,Pingshan Village,Tanglang Village,Taoyuan Village and Songping Village are selected as the soundscape survey sites.Through field measurement and questionnaire survey of these sites, soundscape components and soundscape evaluation data are collected.Through factor analysis, the overall soundscape evaluation and soundscape perception evaluation of urban villages and residential areas are obtained, and through correlation analysis of the collected data, the soundscape influencing factors are obtained, which can describe the soundscape of urban villages and residential areas from people, sound, environment, and soundscape four aspects. The research found that the soundscape of urban villages has a moderate deviation. The soundscape of squares is good, and the soundscape of roads is poor.Mechanical sound, living sound, natural sound and landscape environment are the main factors affecting the soundscape of urban villages. The soundscape of residential areas is moderately preferred, squares and roads are both well evaluated.Sound level, traffic sound, mechanical sound, living sound, and natural sound are the main factors affecting the soundscape of residential areas.Comparing the soundscape of the village in the city with the soundscape of the residential area,it can be found that from the soundscape evaluation, the soundscape of the residential area is generally good, and the soundscape of urban village is generally poor, but the soundscape of the square in urban villages is not bad,and the "Eventual" soundscape perception is better than the square in residential areas, which reflects the rich community vitality of urban villages. From the perspective of soundscape influencing factors, the soundscape of urban villages and residential areas are both affected by sound sources and the landscape environment. However, the soundscape of urban villages is greatly affected by the landscape environment, while the soundscape of residential areas is affected by sound level and sound source. It can be seen that shaping a good landscape environment is an effective measure to improve the soundscape of urban villages, and formulating reasonable sound control measures is an effective measure to improve the soundscape of residential areas.
