In recent years, under the background that people generally put forward higher requirements for the efficiency and convenience of transportation, the number of motor vehicles in China continues to increase, and private car travel within cities has become normal. For this reason, the traffic efficiency of motor vehicles is often taken as the primary consideration in road design, resulting in the tilt of spatio-temporal resources in motor vehicles and the neglect of pedestrian rights.Drived by internal and external factors such as unreasonable facilities and conformity psychology, pedestrian’s behavior of running red light is forbidden repeatedly, which has a huge negative impact on traffic safety and traffic efficiency in the region. Therefore,it is necessary to conduct in-depth analysis of pedestrian violations, conduct in-depth research on crosswalk signal control methods, and constantly explore new methods and new paths to improve urban traffic safety and efficiency and avoid pedestrian violations. This paper takes the signal optimization control strategy as the core of the research, through the literature reading and information collection,it is found that waiting time between pedestrian violations are closely linked. Therefore,it is believed that a scientific and effective method of signal control can be constructed on the basis of qualitative analysis of the behavior characteristics and problem mechanisms of pedestrians crossing the street, which adjusts the structure of resource allocation of time and space from the perspective of quantitative optimization of transportation systems. The main work of this paper is as follows:First of all,on the basis of sorting out the characteristics of pedestrian crossing behavior,a crosswalk at the intersection of Yucai Road and Cuihua Road in Xi’an City was used as the research object to conduct a field investigation. On the one hand, basic data such as the waiting time distribution of pedestrians arriving at the waiting area during the red light period and the geometric parameters of the crosswalk are obtained through data analysis, which lays a foundation for the traffic simulation. On the other hand,Kaplan-Meier analysis of survival analysis is used to estimate the endurance time threshold of pedestrian waiting to cross the street, which can be used to guide signal optimization.Secondly,in view of the shortcomings in the existing optimization studies, this paper proposes a signal optimization timing algorithm with the goal of reducing pedestrian delay and increasing the total traffic volume of passengers and pedestrians in a unit signal cycle:Signal control algorithm considering dual-flow(SCACDF),which is used to optimize the timing Signal.Subsequently,a pedestrian crossing simulation model was established in Any Logic software, and the effectiveness of the model was verified by comparing the number of pedestrian violations in the actual investigation and the simulation model. Then, the validity of the SCACDF is verified by using the model from three perspectives of pedestrians, motorists and travelers. The results show that the SCACDF can reduce pedestrian delays, significantly reduce the rate of pedestrian violations, and improve traffic safety on the basis of ensuring the basic capacity of motor vehicles in a variety of traffic scenarios. In general,we propose a new solution to the pedestrian violation problem in the study from the perspective of technological innovation, and also provide some reference value for the relevant traffic departments in the design and management of road infrastructure.
