In recent years,with the rapid development of high-speed railway,people’s demand for passenger train’s punctuality becomes much higher.When the failure occurs on the line,it is very important to find the fault location,troubleshoot the situation quickly and accurately and ensure the punctuality of train traffic.At present,the traditional ranging principles of high-speed railway traction power supply systems are impedance method,absorbing current method,up-and-down current ratio,feed current ratio and so on.Among them,absorbing current method is preferential in shi-ji passenger dedicated line.The transmission distance of one power supply arm is 30km.And at this stage,the fault-ranging error range is ±500m.So for the railway power supply system the question is that how to reduce the ranging error and improve the range accuracy,which need to be solved urgently.Nowadays,with the widely application and popularity of "traveling wave fault ranging" principle,its high-precision fault positioning character provides a new direction for improving the ranging accuracy of railway traction power supply systems.Combined the fault-ranging method applied in the railway traction power supply system at the present stage with the traveling wave fault ranging method,the following research are carried out in this paper:1.Based on the short-circuit test data which is from the Shijiazhuang to Jinan passenger line before operation,the fault-ranging principle of the absorbent current method used in the railway line is calculated in detail to determine the error range and analyze the factors that affect the measurement error of the distance-measuring principle of the absorbent current method.2.Take the lead to carry out traveling wave simulation modeling of high-speed railway traction power supply system in MATLAB.Calculated the parameters based on taking Shi-ji passenger line as an example,while the distribution location of the actual transmission line,the Carlson theory,mirroring principle and the distribution parameter model are also taken into consideration.In MATLAB/Simulink,a mathematical model is established for the traction power supply system.This system can simulate the short-circuit on line,and analyze weather "traveling wave fault ranging" can be applied on high-speed traction power supply system.3.According to MATLAB/Simulink simulation results and related calculations,it can be seen:(1)the traveling wave fault ranging method is fully applicable to the railway traction power supply system;(2)the traveling wave ranging method can be applied to all kinds of fault types in the traction power supply system;(3)the ranging accuracy of the traveling wave fault ranging method is much greater than the principle of the absorbed current method ranging;(4)the single-ended traveling wave fault ranging method cannot be used in the traction power supply system.4.Do the on-site verification of the installation of a "traveling wave ranging"device on the power supply line of Feixianbei-Mengshan of Lu’nan High-speed line.Obtained the traveling wave data of high-speed railway traction power supply system for the first time.According to the comparison between the ranging results of the"traveling wave ranging" device and the calculation results of the absorbent current method,verify the above four conclusions again.
