| The grid-tied PV solar energy is one of the pioneer non-conventional sources of energy;it is scale upping at a high rate throughout the world since few decades.Due to different reasons, the energy demand is highly increasing, whereas the climate change and greenhouse gas emission from the energy generation industry is becoming a big deal for human beings. To overcome these challenges, this paper proposed that generating energy from renewable energy sources specifically from PV solar energy rather than relying upon only conventional energy resources like natural gas, coal, and fossil fuels. In Ethiopia, the supply and demand for energy are not proportional, since only 44.98 % of the total population has got electricity access. So that to provide clean energy for the country, this study proposed that the government of Ethiopia(Go E)have to focus on the generation of grid-tied PV solar energy as already stated in the policy. The main aim of this study is to generate grid-tied PV solar energy for the small metal fabrication industry in Hosaena city,SNNPR,Ethiopia.Ethiopia is rich in natural resources and renewable energy sources, average solar irradiation is approximately 5.5 k Wh/m2 per day, which shows the country has strong potential for PV solar energy projects. In the southern part of Ethiopia, the economy is growing rapidly, even though it is not as expected because of the scarcity of energy or continued outage of energy. The study investigated the potential of the grid-tied and building integrated PV solar energy of the 1k Wp installed peak PV power system for the selected site by using the PVGIS software and mathematical equation, the simulation results showed that the annual global solar radiation, the total annual generated power output, total power losses are 2101 k Wh/m2,1578 k Wh,and-24.9% respectively. While the total annual generated power output by using a mathematical equation is 1849.5k Wh,it seems approximately the same as the results from the PVGIS software. In addition to this, the proposed PV module was simulated by using Simulink/Matlab software to observe the P-V and I-V characteristics of the module and the impacts of the weather condition variation on the power conversion efficiency of the proposed PV module and the system performance.Depending on the results of the study, the authors recommended that for Ethiopia as a developing country, renewable energy sources like PV solar energy are the best way to generate energy and to give a solution for the problem of lack of clean energy. And the solar energy potential that has throughout the country indicates that investing in this sector will be an efficient, resilient, affordable, and sustainable way to generate clean energy. |
