Safety is the lifeblood of civil aviation.The construction of the professional style and ability of the pilot team is a key link to ensure the stable and controllable operation of civil aviation safety,and is the core link to ensure flight safety.At the same time,the investigation of International Air Transport Association(IATA)showed that 80% to 90% of flight accidents were caused by human factors.As the core position of safety,pilots’ mental health has become one of the key factors to ensure aviation safety.Therefore,most countries in the world at the time of the initial flight cadets for the psychological selection as essential link.By means of basic cognitive ability,psychomotor ability,personality assessment and other methods,we select the talents suitable for commercial transport flight for training,and then train qualified pilots.While laying the foundation for ensuring flight safety,the training cost is effectively saved.But at present,the civil aviation industry basically adopts personality assessment as the most common method of psychological selection,the psychological selection method is relatively simple.Therefore,we try to find a reliable indicator in the field of cognition to enrich the means of psychological selection of civil aviation flight cadets.In terms of cognition,visual bistable perception is proved to be a universal visual phenomenon.When people observe ambiguous shapes or ambiguous physical stimuli,they will induce visual bistable perception switching,that is,two subjective consciousness form and switch back and forth over time.Visual bistable perception is a relatively stable trait of individuals,and the switching rate of visual bistable perception is relatively stable and varies greatly between individuals,which can be a good measure of visual stability of individuals.In the process of flying,the pilot’s information input mainly comes from vision,so can good visual stability bring excellent flight performance? Whether visual bistable perception can be used as a cognitive index to enrich the psychological selection methods of civil aviation flight cadets? This requires us to clearly explore the relationship between visual stability and flight performance.Therefore,this study designed two experiments to explore the relationship between visual stability and flight performance of civil aviation flight cadets.In experiment 1,we manipulated the motion rhythm of bistable stimulus to collect the perceptual switching rate of visual bistable stimulus of 35 civil aviation flight cadets,and collected their simulated flight test scores and personality trait scores through flight simulation software and Cattell 16 PF.The relationship between visual stability and personality factors closely related to flight performance and the relationship between visual stability and simulated flight performance were explored.In experiment 2,the simulated five-sided flight data and visual bistable perceptual switching rate of 53 civil aviation flight cadets were collected,and spectrum analysis was conducted to investigate whether the visual bistable experimental program had a positive effect on the improvement of flight performance.Through experimental research and data analysis,the results of this study are as follows:(1)In experiment 1,the flight cadets with fewer perceptual switching rate of rhythmic and non-rhythmic visual bistable stimulus are compared with the flight cadets with more perceptual switching rate,there is a significant difference in their simulated flight test scores.The flight cadets with fewer perceptual switching rate have better visual stability and higher scores on simulated flight tests than those with more perceptual switching rate.(2)In experiment 1,there is a significant positive correlation between visual bistable perceptual stability and simulated flight performance of civil aviation flight cadets,but only the perceptual stability of rhythmic visual bistable stimulus have a good predictive effect on simulated flight performance.(3)In experiment 1,Compared with male Chinese norm,civil aviation pilot cadets were higher at the personality factors of Reasoning(B),Emotional Stability(C),Dominance(E),Liveliness(F),Social Boldness(H),Abstractedness(M)and Perfectionism(Q3),and lower at the personality factors of Warmth(A),Vigilance(L)and Self-Reliance(Q2).Only the perceptual stability of rhythmic visual bistable stimuli is significantly correlated with stability(C)and skepticism(L)of personality factors,and the correlation with stability(C)is the highest.These personality factors,which are significantly different from the Chinese male norm and relate to the perceptual stability of the rhythmic visual bistable stimulus,have a greater impact on or predicted flight performance.(4)In experiment 2,as the two groups of subjects accept visual bistable experiment program increases,their vision bistable perception switching rate significantly increased.But accept the rhythmic visual bistable experiment program of the experimental group subjects compared to accept non-rhythmic(uniform)visual bistable experiment program of the control group subjects,the increment of perceptual switching rate is significantly lower.Compared with the non-rhythmic(uniform)visual bistable experimental program,the rhythmic visual bistable experimental program have a more positive effect on maintaining visual stability.(5)In Experiment 2,through spectrum analysis and difference test,we find that after the civil aviation flight cadets of the experimental group were trained by the rhythmic visual bistable experimental program,compared with the control group,the fluctuation amplitude of their flight height curve was significantly reduced,and their flight control stability was significantly improved.The results show that the experimental program of rhythmic vision bistable has a positive effect on the improvement of flight performance of cadets.This study not only confirm the relationship between visual stability and flight performance,but also find that the rhythmic visual bistable experimental program has positive effects on the improvement of flight performance of civil aviation flight cadets.This provides a scientific basis for predicting flight performance by using visual bistable perceptual stability,provides theoretical support for improving flight training performance of civil aviation flight cadets by using visual bistable experimental program,and enrich the means of psychological selection and training of civil aviation flight cadets. |
