As an important province in western China,Sichuan province ranks the front of the country in terms of economy and population. However, under the influence of various factors, there is a large development gap between different regions, and there are significant problems of unbalanced and inadequate development. In 2018,the CPC Sichuan Provincial Committee made a strategic deployment of "one branch, multiple branches and coordination among the five regions".It proposes to give full play to the development advantages of different regions, promote inter-city development, regional integration and coordinated development, and build a regional development community. As an important link, transportation links the social economy of various regions and plays an important role in supporting and guaranteeing the economic and social development of the region.Transportation accessibility is an important basis to evaluate the level of transportation. It is of great significance to study the status of transportation development in Sichuan province and improve the level of transportation accessibility to enhance the regional competitiveness of Sichuan province and promote regional coordinated development. In this thesis, taking Sichuan Province as study area, selecting 21 cities(autonomous prefectures)in the province as the research objects, with the help of the spatial analysis function of Arc GIS software, the adjusted weighted average travel time method is used to measure the traffic accessibility of 21 cities(autonomous prefectures)in Sichuan Province based on highway transportation, railway transportation, air transportation and comprehensive transportation containing three of them. Then the evolution characteristics of traffic accessibility during the 13 th Five-Year Plan period are analyzed. Finally, according to the current situation of traffic accessibility in Sichuan and the existing problems in the evolution process, relevant suggestions for improving traffic accessibility are given. The results show that:(1)In terms of spatial distribution, the traffic accessibility in Sichuan presents an irregular circular distribution pattern with Chengdu as the center and gradually decreases to the surrounding areas. The provincial capital Chengdu has the most traffic accessible, while Panzhihua has the worst traffic accessibility.(2)During the 13 th Five-Year Plan period, the proportion of completed transportation by railway and air is gradually increasing. Thanks to the construction of high-grade highways and the opening and operation of high-speed railways, the accessibility level of some inter-provincial marginal cities has been significantly improved.(3)The regional development gap is still large, the improvement of urban transport accessibility of Panxi Economic Zone is not obvious, and the gap with other cities is gradually widening.(4)The construction of general aviation short-distance transport network can effectively improve the accessibility of cities in remote areas, which is conducive to narrow the regional development gap.In this thesis, from the Angle of traffic accessibility, unbalanced development of sichuan province was studied, the problem of inadequate, when evaluating the comprehensive traffic accessibility will air transport ways into account, the weighted average travel time models are adjusted, when calculating the shortest travel time increased by operations in the city center to the time, make the result more practical.Aiming at some cities which are located at the edge of the province and have poor traffic accessibility level, and the improvement effect is not obvious in recent years, this thesis provides a new solution to improve the traffic accessibility level in the above region from the perspective of short distance transportation by general aviation short distance transport.
