| Red clay is an early deposit widely accumulated in the late Paleogene in China,which has a certain regionality.Due to the special properties of red clay,in order to satisfy the requires of the development and construction of Shuangdang Port in Jinpu New District,Dalian City,in-depth research was conducted on the red clay in the area.In this thesis,the research and analysis of red clay in Shuang D Port,Jinpu New Area,Dalian City.The physical and mechanical characteristics of red clay are analyzed through particle size tests and geochemical element tests,as well as indoor and outdoor geotechnical tests.Finally,Pearson correlation analysis using SPSS software,analyze the correlation between particle size characteristics and geochemical element characteristics and engineering properties,respectively.The conclusion is as follows:(1)Experimental data show that the silty content in the red clay soil in this study area is the dominant particle level,followed by the sand particle content,and finally the sticky particle.According to the parameter analysis,the dynamic conditions of the red clay in the study area are strong,the particles are generally fine,and the sorting is better.The particle size distribution curve and the particle size accumulation curve illustrate the complex source and dynamic conditions of red clay materials in this region,and the sediment has undergone a process of first transport and then deposition due to the dual action of wind and hydraulic force.According to the analysis of geochemical elements,the content of Al2O3,Si O2,Ca O and Fe2O3in the constant elements can reach up to 82.96%,of which the content of Si O2was the highest;Constant elements are compared to the upper continental crust(UCC),and the constant elements Al,Si,Fe and Ti showed an enrichment state,while Mg,Ca,Na were relatively ling out;trace elements were compared to the upper continental crust(UCC),and the results showed that P,Cr,Mn,Ni,Cu,Sr and Zr show a state of enrichment,while Ba is relatively leached;the content of chemical elements,whether leaching or enrichment,indicates a change in the climatic environment,and in general,the climate environment is relatively warm and humid.This period underwent strong weathering,with montmorillonite,Illite and kaolinite as the main mineral components,and red clay at this time had engineering properties with low compressibility,higher strength and better stability.(2)On the engineering characteristics,in the this area the red clay characteristics are high moisture content,large pores,strong plasticity,high strength and medium compressibility.According to the genesis and type of red clay,it can be known that the red clay in this area is secondary red clay,sediments are formed by external forces.(3)From Pearson correlation analysis,it is concluded that the factors with the greatest influence on shear strength and compressibility in the particle size composition and chemical elements in the study area are manifested as the average particle size value is large,in the range of coarse silty sand,the Si O2content is gradually leached,Al2O3and Fe2O3are relatively enriched,and the cementitiousness between the particles is gradually enhanced,and the shear strength is higher and the compressibility is weaker.Therefore,the average particle size and the content of each element are the main factors affecting the nature of laterite clay engineering. |
