Biological Characteristics Of Some Xinjiang Pear Cultivars And Their Pollination Affinity With Korla Fragrant Pear

Korla Fragrant Pear is a cross-pollinated fruit-bearing tree.The pollinating trees which meet with Korla Fragrant Pear at flowering stage,have strong affinity with Korla Fragrant Pear,and good Xenia effects on Korla Fragrant Pear qullity is selected to provide scientific basis for the configuration of Korla Fragrant Pear pollinating trees.The main conclusions are as follows:(1)The number of flowers of 10 Xinjiang cultivars and Dangshanli is 6-14,and that of Aiwenqieke and Lvli is the largest.The color of the flower buds is Heisuanli and Aksu Jujuli is white,other varieties are pink.The diameter of corolla is 2.43-4.00cm,and the largest is Aiwenqieke and Heisuanli.The shape of petal is Korla Huangsuanli,and other varieties are round.The number of pear petals in Luntai J ujuli is 5-8,and 5 in other varieties,Petals are separated,contiguous or overlapping.The stigma of Korla H uangsuanli is lower than anther,and stigma of other varieties are same high with anther or higher than anther.The number of stamen of Korla fragrant pear,Hese Jujuli and Huocheng Donghuangli is the largest.The color of anthers is purple,red or pink.(2)The pericarp of 5 cultivars of Korla fragrant pear,Aiwenqieke ect was green,and that of other varieties such as green pear was light yellow or yellow.The taste of 4 cultivars as Korla fragrant pear.Aiwenqieke ect.was sweet,while that of Lvli and other cultivars was soursweet or sour.The fruit ripening period of the different varieties was obviously different.The single fruit weight of the Aiwenqieke,Huocheng Donghuangli,Heisuanli and Lvli was the largest;The fruit firmness of Korla fragrant pear,Aiwenqieke and Heisuanli was the smallest;the sugar-acid ratio of Korla fragrant pear and Dangshanli was the highest;the total soluble sugar content of Aiwenqieke and Lvli was the highest;The highest content of soluble solids was found in the Aiwenqieke,Kuqa Amut and Hese Jujuli;The vitamin C content of Aiwenqieke,Lvli and Kuqa Amut was the highest.(3)The flowering period of the other 8 varieties except for Evenqieke and Korla Huangsuanli was overlapped.The pollen vigor of Lvli,Aksu Jujuli and Korla Fragrant pear was the strongest,and the amount of pollen was more than other cultivars.(4)The pollen tube extended to the style base of Korla fragrant pear after 96h of pollination with Lvli,Dangshanli,Kuqa Amut and Aksu Jujuli,showing the cross compatibility,while the self-pollinated and other varieties could not or minimally extended to the base of style for 96 hours,showing self-pollination or cross pollination incompatibility.The self-pollination fruit setting rate of Korla Fragrant Pear was only 2.56%.The fruit setting rate of Korla Fragrant Pear pollinated with Lvli,Dangshanli and Aksu J ujuli was higher,but that of Kuqa Amut was lower,and that of other cultivars was less than 5%.(5)The single fruit weight of Korla fragrant pears being pollinated with Kuqa Amut,Aiwenqieke and Lvli was higher than the pollination with the other pollinizers.The highest fruit firmness was found in the Korla fragrant pears being pollinated with Dangshanli and with Aiwenqieke,while the lowest fruit firmness was showed in the pollination with Lvli.The shape indexes of Korla fragrant pears being pollinated with Dangshanli,Lvli and Aksu J ujuli was low.The sugar-acid ratios of Korla fragrant pears being pollinated with Kuqa amut,Korla Huangsuanli,and with Aiwenqieke was highest.The highest soluble solids contents were found in Korla fragrant pear being pollinated with Kuqa Amut.The vitamin C content of Korla fragrant pear was highest in pollination with Korla fragrant pear it sellef and with Aksu Jujuli.The heights normal seed number was found in Korla fragrant pear being pollinated with Lvli and with Dangshanli.(6)Paternal pollen straightening had significant positive effect on fruit shape index,but had no significant effect on vitamin C,titratable acid,total soluble sugar,sugar-acid ratio,soluble solids,fruit hardness,single fruit weight and normal seed number,while seed number was negatively correlated with fruit shape index.In summary,Lvli is suitable pollinizer for Korla fragrant pear,which has good affinity with Korla fragrant pear,and in which got the highest single fruit weight,lowest fruit framness,and moderate sugar-acid ratio,soluble solids and Vitamin C content.In addition,The single fruit weight,total soluble sugar content,soluble solids content and vitamin C content of Aivenqieke and Lvli were high,and the fruit firmness of which was small,there was a significant difference between the taste and peel color of fruit,and the fruit ripening earlier.Therefore those cultivars can be used as excellent breeding materials.
