Nucleotides and their metabolites play important physiological and biochemical roles in animal body.Under normal circumstances, nucleotides can meet the needs of the body by de novo synthesis of that. However, when the animal is in the condition of rapid growth or subject to immune stress, intestinal injury and oxidative stress, nucleotides may need to be added as a conditional essential nutrient. Therefore, the aim of this study was to investigate effects of dietary nucleotides on oxidative stress, reproductive and lactational performance of sows, including the following two experiment.Experiment 1:The aim of this study was to investigate effects of different sources of dietary nucleotides on oxidative stress, reproductive and lactational performance of sows.A total of 80 sows(Large White)with similar body weight and parity were allocated to four groups(n=20),receiving corn-soybean meal from d 85 of gestation until d 21 of lactation. The four experimental treatments were defined as follows:Treatment 1 Sows fed a control diet(Control,CON;n=20);Treatment 2,3,4 Sows fed a basal diet supplemented with 1%yeast extract containing 10%nucleotides,1%yeast extract without nucleotides,0.1%pure nucleotides(Yeast extract,YE;Yeast extract without nucleotides,YEWN;Nucleotides,NTs;n=20).The main results were as follows:1)Different sources of dietary nucleotides have no significantly impact(P>0.05)on reproductive performance.2)Compared with the control group, the average daily feed intake of YE and NTs group significantly(P<0.05)increased in the first week, simultaneously, average piglet weight at 9 d,piglet ADG and litter weight gain of YE group from 3-9 d increased(P<0.05).Average piglet weight at 9 d,piglet ADG and litter weight gain of YE group from 3-9 d increased compared with YEWN group.3)The contents of CMP,UMP,IMP and total nucleotides in milk of YE group as well as contents of GMP,IMP and total nucleotides in milk of NTs group were higher than that in control group(P<0.05).4)Compared with oxidative parameters in serum of sows at day 109 of gestation, the T-AOC concentration in YE and NTs group as well as the activity of GSH-PX in YE group increased(P<0.05).The MDA concentration in colostrum and serum of piglets at day 21 of lactation were lower than that in control group(P<0.05).Compared with control group, the activity of GSH-PX in serum of piglets at day 21 of lactation increased in YE and NTs group(P<0.05).Experiment 2:In order to save costs and increase efficiency,on the basis of Experiment 1,this experiment further determine effects of different levels of nucleotides on oxidative stress status, reproductive and lactational performance of sows.A total of 80 sows(Large White)with similar body weight and parity were allocated to four groups(n=20),receiving corn-soybean meal from d 85 of gestation until d 21 of lactation. The four experimental treatments were defined as follows:Treatment 1 Sows fed a control diet from d 85 of gestation until d 21 of lactation(Control,CON;n=20);Treatment 2,3,4 Sows fed a basal diet supplemented with 0.25%,0.5%,1%yeast extract containing nucleotides(0.25%,0.5%,1%Yeast extract,YE;n=20);The main results were as follows:1)Different levels of yeast extract containing nucleotides have no significantly impact(P>0.05)on reproductive performance.2)As the amount of nucleotide increased, the average daily feed intake of first and weight loss during lactation were linear model.Compared with the control group, the average daily feed intake of 1%YE group increased by 21%in the first week,BW loss during lactation decreased(P=0.07),20 d litter weight and 3-9 d ADG of piglets increased by 10%and 13%,respectively.3)Compared with the control group, the contents of CMP,UMP,IMP and total nucleotides in milk of 1%YE group were significantly lower(P<0.05).4)The T-AOC concentration and the activity of GSH-PX in 1%YE group were higher(P<0.05)than that in control group.Compared with the control group, the concentration of MDA in serum of piglets at day 21 of lactation was lower(P<0.05)from 1%YE group.Furthermore, the activity of GSH-PX in serum of piglets from 1%YE group increased significantly(P<0.05)compared with other groups. In summary, different sources of dietary nucleotides(NTs and YE)significantly increased ADFI and contents of nucleotides in milk during lactation, which alleviated the oxidative stress of sows and piglets and promoted the growth of the suckling piglets. The feed intake and the weight loss during lactation increased and decreased linearly with the addition amount of nucleotides increased. When 1%YE is added to the diet, the economic benefits of the farm are maximized in combination with the lactational performance of the sows.
