Variety Experiment Of ’Laoting White Cucumber’

’Laoting white cucumber’is the local variety planted in greenhouse in Laoting County,Hebei Province,which taste sweet and crisp with strong flavor.Due to the lack of systematic breeding,the characters of the varieties were mixed.In this study,13 hybrid combinations（strains）were used as materials,and’Laoting white cucumber’（CK₁）,’Green island 3’（CK₂）,’Zhonghe 16’（CK₃）and’18W-1’（CK₄）were used as control.To select the best combination（strain）,the plant growth potential,commercial melon quality,yield,stress resistance and disease resistance were compared.Regional and production experiments were also carried out.The main results were as follows:1.Comparison test of’Laoting White cucumber’combinations（strains）.In 2017,C08 and C01 were the primary selected combinations（strains）according to the observation of the overwinter crop comparison in Laoting solar greenhouse.In 2018,C08 and C01 showed better performance in plant growth,commercial melon quality and yield in plastic greenhouse.In 2019,C0807 and C0806 showed better performance in plant growth,quality,yield,and stress resistance,followed by C01and C0805.2.Regional test of’Laoting White cucumber’combinations（strains）.In 2018,C08 and C01 were superior to the control varieties in terms of plant growth,yield,quality,plant growth and stress resistance in greenhouse of Pingquan.In 2019,the further regional experiment showed that C01 and C0805 performed better in terms of plant growth,yield and quality,followed by C0807 and C0806.In greenhouse of Yongqing in 2019,C0806 and C01 were superior in growth,quality,yield,growth,stress resistance and disease resistance,followed by C0805 and C0807.3.Production experiment of’Laoting White cucumber’combinations（strains）.The preliminary production test results of Changli base in 2019 showed that the quality of commercial melon of C01 and C08 was better than that of the control,the rate of fine melon was higher than that of the control,the total yield was 19.3%and12.2%higher than that of CK_l,39.2%and 40.4%lower than that of CK₂,respectively.The ability of resistance to stress and restoring growth in spring were stronger,and the comprehensive characters were better than those of the control.
