The research on new protein sources is a national strategic demand, for change continuous shortage of resources. On the one hand, the composition and physicochemical properties of protein materials determine their own pelleting performance, and ultimately affect the quality of pellet feed.On the other hand, the safety and effectiveness of Clostridium autoethanogenum protein(CAP)is the key to its application in broiler growthing. This experiment was conducted to study the effects of CAP on pellet feed quality, growth performance, physiological and biochemical characteristics, and intestinal flora of broilers. In order to systematically put forward the feasible scheme of adding CAP in broiler diet:(1)Study on the granulation characteristics of CAP.1)The nutritional components, physicochemical properties and quality index of pellet feed of CAP were compared with those of soybean meal, cottonseed meal, rapeseed meal and DDGS(Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles). The conclusions are as follows: 1.The nutritional components and physicochemical properties of protein raw materials affect the quality of pellet. The increase of protein content, protein solubility and water absorption can improve the hardness,Pellet Durability Index(PDI)and Modified Pellet Durability Index(MPDI).The increase of crude fiber content, protein solubility and water absorption will increase the energy consumption of granulation.2.CAP has the characteristics of high protein content, protein solubility and water absorption, and its pelletize performance is better than the other four protein materials.2)Study on the effect of replacing different proportion of CAP soybean meal on the quality of pellet feed.Detecting the quality index of pellet feed that was carried out under different replacement ratio(0,20%,40%,60%)and different conditioning temperatures(70℃,80℃,90℃).With the increase of conditioning temperature, the PDI and hardness increased significantly(P<0.05),and the protein solubility decreased significantly(P>0.05);with the increase of replacement ratio, the PDI and hardness increased gradually, and after the replacement ratio reached 40%,the hardness increased significantly, and the protein solubility decreased significantly(P>0.05).Compared with soybean meal,CAP is more helpful to improve the hardness and PDI;with the increase of substitution ratio and conditioning temperature, the hardness and PDI gradually increase.(2)The effects of CAP on growth performance, slaughter performance of broilers were studied. The control group was fed with corn-soybean meal diet, and addition groups were fed with 1%,2%,3%,4% and 5% levels of CAP in the control group for 42 days(one-day old Kebao broiler). The results showed that: 1)The average daily feed intake and average daily gain were increased by 1% and 4%,respectively(P<0.05),and the feed to weight ratio was significantly decreased when adding more than 2%CAP during the whole period(P<0.05);when 4% was added, the eviscerated yield was significantly increased by 3.2%,breast muscle yield was 3.73%,and the abdominal fat rate was decreased by 0.52%(P<0.05);the addition of CAP could significantly increase the TP and ALB,and increase the UA.The plasma antioxidant indexes were improved in varying degrees.CAP was helpful for broilers to absorb protein and improve the plasma antioxidant capacity.2)The intestinal microbial diversity increased, the abundance of Flavobacterium increased, and the concentration of acetic acid, propionic acid, butyric acid and other short chain fatty acids increased. In conclusion,CAP has high protein content, high protein solubility and strong water absorption, and its pellet performance is better than the other four protein sources. The PDI and hardness of pellet feed increased with the increase of protein solubility, protein content and water absorption. At the same tempering temperature, the hardness and PDI increased with the increase of the proportion of CAP replacing soybean meal; When the substitution ratio reaches 40%,the hardness is improved significantly.Compared with soybean meal,CAP is more helpful to increase the hardness and durability of pellet feed. The addition of CAP could improve the growth performance mainly through the feed utilization rate, improve the slaughter performance mainly through the increase of the eviscerated yield and breast muscle yield, and reduce the abdominal fat rate.It had the potential to improve the antioxidant capacity of plasma, and was conducive to intestinal stability and health. It is recommended to add 4% CAP in broiler diet.
