Qiaoda red sheep was discovered as a new sheep genetic resource.It is a type of coarse-wool sheep with both meat and fat.The central production area is located in Qiaoda Township,Pishan County of Xinjiang,where climate is dry and hot,rich in pasture resources,and has the characteristics of perennial estrus and multiple lambs.This research uses the method of Gompertz,Logistie and Cubic quarantine to fit the growth curve of lamb weight and body size to understand the early growth and development characteristics of lambs;the weight and body size were measured,compared to other China sheep breeds including Aletay sheep and Bashbai sheep,also comparision the morphology,ecology and other informations of Qiaoda red sheep with 16 domestic fat-tailed sheep to identify its relationship with other.The methods of R-type clustering and Q-type clustering was uses to explore the group status of the Qiaoda red sheep ewe in the fat-tailed sheep;The Qiaoda red sheep has the characteristics of high fertility,and it was used for scientific management in production.The method of variance analysis was used to analyzes the difference between body size and body size index of the Qiaoda red sheep ewes with different litters.The methods of principal component analysis and cluster analysis was used to analyze their body structure characteristics;the method of stepwise regression was used to quantitatively describe the weight and body size.the results showed:1.Qiaoda red sheep has a red coat and is highly adaptable to arid,hot and less rainy climates.It has the characteristics of high estrus and lambing rates throughout the year.It is a fat-tailed coarse-haired sheep;the distribution of individual body measurements greatly varies within the group.The group status is close to that of Duolang sheep,Yecheng sheep and Lanzhou big-tail sheep.Therefore,it can be used as a reference when formulating the breeding of Qiaoda red sheep,the excavation of high-quality resources and the formulation of development plans.2.The cubic tetranomial model is the best fit model for the early weight of lambs in this group,and the fit of male and female lambs are 0.8388 and 0.8628.3.It is found that there are significant or extremely significant differences between the weight,body length,bust circumference and tube circumference index of adult ewes with different numbers of litters;principal component analysis found that the influence of the main receptor type factors of single lamb ewe,double lambs ewes are mainly affected by the tail factor and the width factor,and the internal relationship is different between the body size of the ewes with different litters.Regression equation was constructed between the weight and body size of the ewe.The research on the germplasm characteristics of Qiaoda red sheep provides technical parameters for breed selection,germplasm improvement and lays a solid foundation for standardized management and precise policy implementation of Qiaoda red sheep ewe populations with different lambing numbers.
