Abstract/Summary:
Rice plasticity gene(RICE PLASTICITY 1,RPL1)regulates the phenotypic plasticity of rice according to the growth environment, and can help rice maintain the stability of plant height in different habitats.RPL1 is a gene unique to plants that regulates phenotypic plasticity, and it only plays a role in monocots. In this study, the isolated rpl1 mutant and relevant mutants(LOC_Os01g51210,LOC_Os04g33740,LOC_Os05g09480,LOC_Os06g13640)were genotyped, which laid the foundation for studying the function of RPL1 gene and the molecular mechanism of RPL1 regulating rice plant height.Isopentenyl transferase(IPT)genes in plants encode key enzymes for cytokinin synthesis. This study mainly uses bioinformatics methods to systematically analyze rice IPT genes(OsIPTs)at the whole genome level.First 10 OsIPT genes were identified in the rice genome, and they were distributed in different positions on rice chromosomes 1,3,5,6,and 7.Phylogenetic tree analysis divided the OsIPT protein family into four subfamilies. The expression profile of the whole growth period showed that all 10 OsIPT genes were expressed, but the two genes OsIPT2 and OsIPT4 were not highly expressed, and their expression levels were lower than other genes.According to the subcellular localization of OsIPT proteins in tobacco leaves,a number of IPT(OsIPT1,OsIPT2,OsIPT6,OsIPT7)and GFP fusion proteins are scattered throughout the cytoplasm. It is speculated that these OsIPT proteins may play a role in the cytoplasm. This study deepens our understanding of the importance of rice isopentenyl transferase family members, and also provides a reference for future research on the gene function of the OsIPT family members.
