Toxoplasma gondii is an obligate intracellular parasite.Toxoplasma gondii caused by it is a worldwide zoonotic disease, which is extremely harmful to human health and animal husbandry. In this study,an indirect ELISA diagnostic method for Toxoplasma gondii was established based on membrane surface protein 2(SAG2)and dense granule protein 7(GRA7),which have been proven to be good diagnostic antigens for Toxoplasma gondii. The more sensitive SAG2 was selected as the detection antigen.Diagnosing antigens,2 673 animal serums were tested,including907 Tibetan sheep serum,Yak serum 663,Cow serum 205,Chicken serum 500,and Pig serum. There were 337 serums and 61 horses serums. The results showed that the positive rates of total Toxoplasma IgG and IgM antibodies in the tested animals were44.1%(1 179/2 673)and 18.0%(469/2 612),respectively;Both IgM and IgM were positive accounted for 14.9%(389/2 612),single IgM positive accounted for 3.0%(80/2 612),single IgG positive accounted for 30.0%(790/2 673).The IgG positive rate of pigs classified by the tested animal species was the highest(90.2%,304/337),followed by Tibetan sheep(50.7%,460/907),chicken(45.8%,229/500),yak(21.1%,140 /663),cows(18.5%,38/205)and horses(13.1%,8/61).The animal with the highest IgM antibody positive rate was pigs(41.8%,141/337),followed by Tibetan sheep(21.2%,191/907),dairy cows(15.1%,31/205),chickens(12.4%,62/500)And yak(6.6%,44/663).There is no significant change in the results after classification by different altitudes. In summary, the infection rate of Toxoplasma gondii in economic animals in Qinghai is relatively high. This study provides effective reference data for further research onthe prevalence of toxoplasmosis in this region and the establishment of corresponding prevention and control measures in the future.
