Vicia sativa L.is a forage and green manure crop with large biomass,high nutritional value,wide adaptability and good stress tolerance,which plays an irreplaceable important role in China’s grassland agricultural ecosystem.There is a large area of salinized soil in our country,which severely restricts the agricultural production in our country.Breeding new varieties of salt-tolerant Vicia sativa L.can effectively utilize and improve and repair salinized soil.In this paper,the yield characteristics and salt tolerance of Vicia sativa L.germplasm resources were evaluated,and the physiological mechanism of salt tolerance was preliminarily explored.The main results of this paper are as follows:(1)Field evaluation was conducted on 63 samples of Vicia sativa L.germplasm resources to investigate phenological phase and main growth character.And through comprehensive analysis,a L.germplasm resource named No.413(104 Vicia sativa L.)with good quality,high yield,medium maturity,and suitable for planting in East China were selected.(2)The salt tolerance of Vicia sativa L.germplasm resources were identified at seed germination stage,seedling stage and whole plant stage,and several salt-tolerant(401,449,459,460 and 466)and salt-sensitive Vicia sativa L.germplasm resources(429,461)were screened out,which laid a foundation for the follow-up study on the physiological mechanism of salt tolerance of Vicia sativa L.(3)A salt-tolerant Vicia sativa L.germplasm resource named 460 and a salt-sensitive Vicia sativa L.named 429 were used as material to explore the physiological mechanism of salt tolerance of Vicia sativa L..The results show that:the chlorophyll content in leaves of salt-tolerant germplasm resource was significantly higher than that of leaves of salt-sensitive germplasm resource under salinity stress,the proline content and the activities of antioxidant enzymes SOD and CAT in Vicia sativa L.were significantly up-regulated,but there was no significant difference between salt-tolerant and salt-sensitive germplasm resources.However,the APX activity of salt-tolerant Vicia sativa L.is significantly higher than the salt-sensitive Vicia sativa L.(P<0.05),indicating that the different adaptation degrees of salt-tolerant and salt-sensitive Vicia sativa L.to salt stress are related to APX enzyme activity.
