Castor(Ricinus communis L.)belongs to the Euphorbia family.Castor oil is one of the four major inedible oils and an important industrial oil.It could be extremely adaptable to environment and resistant to drought,drought,barren and salinity.Due to the imperfect genome information of castor,it is just a little research about its molecular mechanism.MiR396 is conserved.Growth-regulating factors(GRFs)and GRF-interacting(GIFs)transcription factors are conserved,which plays an important role in regulating plant growth and development and responding to biotic and abiotic stresses.The completion of the whole-genome sequence of castor,which provides support for comprehensive overview of the miR396-GRF/GIF regulatory module.This study identified miR3 96s,GRFs,GIFs in the whole genome of castor and systematically analyzed these genes firstly.The main results are as follows:1.There were 4 RcmiR396s and 11 RcGRFs and 2 RcGIFs identified based on the information of whole-genome sequence in castor.2.RcmiR396s can target all RcGRFs.The targets of RcmiR396a are same as RcmiR396b.3.Ten members of the castor GRF family are expressed in different tissues.RcGRF3,RcGRF6 and RcGRF9 are highly expressed in seeds,which may imply that they play a role in grain development.4.For RcmiR396a,it is a try for knockouting RcmiR396a by constructing CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing vector.
