Objective :In today’s society, people’s life quality and living standard are gradually improving, and the demand for social services such as medical services, education and old-age care is also on the rise, resulting in the increasing contradiction between the supply and demand of public basic services. In all kinds of supply and demand contradictions, especially medical services. In order to effectively alleviate the contradiction between supply and demand of medical services and improve the service level of medical institutions, this paper will conduct an indepth study on the spatial accessibility and equalization of medical institutions in Zhaoping county,Guangxi based on GIS technology.Evaluation of the equality of public medical service and Suggestions on the planning of public medical service facilities. Methods:Based on the spatial analysis of human geography, this study incorporated GIS,statistical data, spatial data, and medical data, and integrated the theories and methods of applied medical informatics, human geography,GIS,and public health to analyze the spatial accessibility and equalization of local medical institutions.(1)To summarize the research progress, basic theories and technical methods in the field of spatial accessibility and equalization analysis of medical institutions using the method of analogical analysis of literature,to provide a theoretical basis for the theoretical analysis and empirical research of this study and to form a research proposal for the study.(2)Using a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods of field investigation,we will collect and collate comprehensive data on all aspects required for this study and establish a database on the spatial distribution of medical facilities in Zhaoping County.(3)On the basis of the data and information collected, use model mathematical and statistical analysis to select and evaluate the level of equalization and accessibility of health care services in Zhaoping County by using a matching model.(4)Adopted GIS analysis to establish model data for various areas, roads and residential distribution points in Zhaoping County, geospatially analyze the accessibility and equalization level of service coverage of medical institutions in Zhaoping County, and display the distribution pattern and accessibility level of medical institutions in Zhaoping County region in a visualized form.Results:(1)Among the nearest medical institutions in the administrative villages of Zhaoping County, the Longping Village is the farthest away at 40.57 km,and the Xinwang Village is the farthest away at 40.57 km.The shortest distance to a village is 2.15 kilometres, and the distance to the nearest medical institution varies considerably from one administrative village to another.(2)The results of the distance model analysis show that the medical institutions in Wujiang Township,Huang Yao Township and Fuluo Township have a strong spatial connection with the administrative regions they serve, and the time and distance for residents to reach the medical institutions are short, resulting in good spatial accessibility;due to the large spatial depth of the regions and the fact that the locations of the medical institutions are far away from the centres of the administrative regions, there are large differences in the convenience of medical treatment for residents in Zhaoping Township,Cumao Township and Muge Township.(3)The results of the gravitational model analysis showed that the higher overall rating of the resources of the Zhaoping County People’s Hospital had the greatest impact on the choice of regional residents to seek medical care, followed by the Majiang Town Health Center,Huang Yao Town Health Center, and Zhangmulin Township Health Center.(4)The results of the comprehensive resistance model analysis showed that the overall level of medical care for residents in the southern region is more balanced, except for those who are farther away from medical units.Border administrative villages.Residents of the central region have poorer access to medical care, and they have to spend more time and transportation costs to travel to local or neighboring Access to hospitals;both the western and eastern regions have a high concentration of medical institutions, which has a synergistic effect and makes it easier for residents in each other’s areas to access them Mobile clinic visits.Conclusion:(1)There are large gaps in the coverage of the various medical service areas in Zhaoping County, and the medical environment and facilities for residents in the surrounding areas are far from the standard of medical care of residents in the central region, relative to residents in the central region.(2)Residents of central areas enjoy better accessibility and a higher standard of medical care. The closer the area is to the main urban transport, the better the spatial accessibility of the health care facilities and the more accessible the area is to the inhabitants.Recommendation:(1)To further shorten the differences between urban and rural medical conditions, the construction of medical services in remote and peripheral areas should be intensified to narrow the gap between urban and rural medical environments to the greatest extent possible.(2)Focus on improving the spatial accessibility and parity of medical resources in areas with poorer medical resource provision, including training high-quality medical personnel and improving the level of medical services in order to increase the local medical attractiveness and reasonably ease the burdensharing of county-level general hospitals.(3)Improving transportation conditions, appropriately planning and guiding the clustering of residential land in areas with well-developed transportation, upgrading the level of the road network, realizing village access roads, and strengthening the links between administrative villages and townships and county-level cities.
