OBJECTIVE: To observe the correlation between resting energy expenditure(REE)and SOFA score,APACHE II score,NUTRIC score and laboratory indicators such as leukocyte, lactic acid and hemoglobin in patients with surgical septic shock, explore the influencing factors of REE in patients with surgical septic shock.METHODS: A total of 19 patients with septic shock who underwent mechanical ventilation in our hospital from June 2018 to January 2019 were enrolled in the study. The patient’s REE was measured by IC method 54 times, the relevant laboratory indicators,APACHE II score,SOFA score and NUTRIC score were recorded. The patients were divided into APACHE II score ≤ 20 and APACHE II score > 20,SOFA score ≤ 18 and SOFA score > 8 based on disease severity and risk of death, and according to nutritional risk divided all patients into Low risk group(NUTRIC score<5)and High risk group(NUTRIC score≥5).Discussing the difference in REE between groups.Analyzing the relevance between the REE with APACHE II score,SOFA score,NUTRIC score and white blood cell, hemoglobin and lactic acid.RESULTS: The relativity between REE and APACHE II score,NUTRIC score and laboratory indicators observed was not obvious(p>0.05);the relativity between REE and the group of SOFA score> 8 was not obvious(p>0.05).But there is an obvious relativity between REE with the group of SOFA score≤8(p<0.05),r=0.838.CONCLUSION: The difference between REE with severity of illness in patients with surgical septic shock was not significant, but REE is significantly positively correlated with SOFA score when SOFA score≤8.
